Title: Do Transformers Dream?
Bugman - May 15, 2006 12:13 PM (GMT)
This is just a minor issue that occurred to me, it could help from a flavour point of view. I think I recall Rodimus mentioning seeing Optimus in his dreams, any one else remember that?

No, but I recall Ratchet experienced hallucinations/nightmares in the comics...so I guess it's perfectly possible. ;)

There was a story arc with Sunstreaker and some other mechs dreaming in the UK comic. Think it was called "perchance to Dream" but it was artificially induced by the cons.

I absolutely believe they dream otherwise my entire characterization of Bluestreak is down the tubes.
But yeah, I just watched the episode where Rodimus mentions dreaming of Optimus. It was in the Return of Optimus Prime part 1. I wager that was a matrix induced dream though which is probably different from what normal TFs experience.

That's the one! Thanks. I was hoping to incorporate nightmares into Gladius' character, so it was kind of important.

TFs rocess far more data than we do, and they do "recharge", so I'd say it would be far more unlikely they DON'T dream.
Even if it was Con induced, you need some capacity to be able to dream in order to.

I think, comic-wise, we've seen both yes and no, and both from Furman at that.
I'd vote yes, as a form of data processing, with perhaps one or two exceptions. Then again, you can tell that from one of my fics.
But yeah, canon-wise there's more evidence that they do dream than that they don't.
