OMG are all show flabradors dusted with kitchen cloths ROFL
little hotdogs on string much ammused Tia there her fave breed.
not happy with the way people treat there dogs like items on the end of a lead belting dogs with the lead, yanking on chains and picking a dog up by its scruff soapbox

other than that Tia was brill a little natural even if everyone did need lots of kisses ROFL

colliesrus - May 10, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
awww, what a good item. smile

wether or not she is show material ive no idea! i can never make my mind up!

i think SHE may get impatient and bark!

Hilltop border collie - May 11, 2006 01:56 PM (GMT)
I think they have to be bred to be less energetic and like standing about cos blue, would quite happily do it, cos he absolutly loves ponsing about like a fairy, but the other dogs wouldn't do it in a million years they'd be bored to death, but then again so would i!
Don't think merle's do any good anyway, cos i've not seen many doing it - not that i'd no!

BorderCollieLvr - May 11, 2006 02:05 PM (GMT)
Bear might one day go to a show if he learns to keep his big mouth shut when other dogs bark.

mishflynn - May 11, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
what about eva? dosent she want to go?

billy - May 11, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
there are some merles winning top honours in the breed ring at the moment where i live the lady only does it through the winter due to her agility commitments over the summer, her dogs are dual registered and they are cracking dogs love them, one is a red merle and the other a blue i think,
i do the breed showing with my boy at the moment as he is to young for agility , he is just training at the moment over baby jumps and all his contacts, but once he gets to 18 months it will be agility as he loves it and over the winter when i don't have to many shows back into the breed ring, he has done some winning over the last 4 months and that has been up agains older dogs so not bad for a baby.

I enjoyed watching some of the collies at Crufts and it was nice to see other colours get placed as they never used to give it a second glance if it wasn't black and white. Saw a aussie red get a place and a red merle. Though there aren't many tris around in the showring they are bostly bi-colour - I wonder why?

Chel - May 12, 2006 10:56 AM (GMT)
i had a wander over to the breed ring at crufts, i have to say the majority were like clones of each other! terra would stand out like shed been tango'ed!!!!

yikes

I tried having alook on that site for ringcraft classes near me and there wasn't one listed that's even within my county!!!

So, if anyone knows of any in Wiltshire then please let me know!

BCBrie - May 17, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
i'd love to take Brie to lots of county shows (i'd be kidding myself if i said or even thought of trying to show her in bigger things..lol..she could make it, but im not stable [car wise] to be driving her around everywhere).. SOOOO not trying to toot my own horn here, but i know shed win a few things. she did get 4th place prettiest bitch at hatton dog show.. thats the only show ive been to though sad
