Just being nosey...wondered what chews people feed their dogs to keep them entertained and how often they give them.
Vince LOVES raw marrowbones from the butchers and they act like doggy valium - keep him calm and quiet for ages!!
We also give him rawhide but heard that these aren't too good for doggies.
Mine get pig's ears usually every other day and dentasticks quite often. I do give them flavoured rawhide chews sometimes but I've heard they are not that good for pups. All my dogs have had rawhide in the past and I've never had a problem with any of them.
They love bones but they sometimes get the runs so I'm mean and don't let them have any apart from rare occasions when they get a 5 minute chew each then it goes in the bin.

Parker and Poppy have beef bones from the butchers every other day which they love. I get a carrier bag every week and freeze them so they get beef popsicles which take them ages to eat and because the bones are uncooked they are soft and don't get stuck in their throats - good for their coats and makes their poo harder too (which is great). I don't give them marrowbones because the marrow gives them runs which isn't great to clean up.
Also they love pigs ears which i get from the pet shop (not asda cause they are filled with additives) they last them about 5 mins so only get them once a week.
When we are at work we leave them treats to find around the kitchen, my favourite trick is hiding them in plastic cups wrapped in kitchen towel so they have to unwrap them before they get them.
My four love tripe sticks they also like the filled bones from Pedigree. When we can get hold of them they just adore bones from the butcher, he cooks them so they have crispy bits on. I know rawhide isnt suppose to be good for them but they have it in a variety of different forms. I think really that mine are greedy cos they really don't mind any form of treat, not fussy I suppose. dogbite
Mine have raw chicken, turkey, lamb or beef bones as part of their daily diet. They also get rawhide chews now and again. I've heard loads of bad things about them but never ever seen any evidence to support it, none of mine have ever had a problem with them. :)
