Morning all

What do you stuff your kongs with??

Charlotte - August 27, 2008 10:43 AM (GMT)
I stuff mine with the kong snaps or bits of sausage. It doesnt take Leo long to get them out though lol

I tried putting the "ziggies" in and after he ate the half that was sticking out he got the other half stuck in the kong.........its still in there and i cant even get it out lol

Cream cheese, peanut butter (be carefull the cheap stuff gives Parker a runny b*m), marmite is a favourite and normally takes ages for them to get it all out and a little goes a long way.

Basically anything that sticks and won't harm them i did use the proper kong peanut butter but at £5 a tin i soon stopped as it doesn't last us as long as a tub of philadelphia and that only costs 99p.

philadelphia tomorrow morning then for Millie and a Philli sarnie for me Sorted!

Thanks

Ruth - do you just smear it round the inside of the kong?Doesn't seem to last Vince long but think I'm putting it too near the top!

VInce also has nature diet in his king, sardines, tuna, banana, natural yogurt, cottage cheese (the last 3 are his favourite!!)

I did freeze them but to be honest he'd leave them til they were defrosted and then I got cottage cheese and brown banana everywhere - yum!!

philidelphia i use rubbed in using a pastry brush :)
although if you put marmite in the microwave for 30 seconds it makes it runny use a pastry brush to get it in then in the fridge... it drives them nuts getting it all out beersmilie
KONG REC
i am tying these this week :)

never thought of using a pastry brush - great idea!! Have to see if I own one! lol

I usually just smear with a finger but far too easy for the likes of Vince!

Will see if he likes marmite.

I bought a can of the Kong peanut butter stuff - TBH he's not that bothered by it - prefers primula cheese spread

The Peanut butter thing!! - I thought that nuts were really bad for dogs?

Draven - August 28, 2008 10:24 AM (GMT)
The chicken/beef/tuna/whatever paste you can buy in jars.
Draven loves it :3
along with some nice crunchy biscuits and peanut butter.

We've also added a bit of grated cheese to their biscuits/whatever is in them and microwaved for a little while so it melts and is hard to get out - smells yummy (to the dog!) too...

ParkernPoppysMa - August 28, 2008 01:43 PM (GMT)
Backside of a teaspoon does the job - and shove it in as far as i can so it takes longer to get out.

Primula is brill cause it comes in a tube and you can squeeze it in. Don't go to overboard cause no-body likes poo that you can't pick up, just ease them into it gently.

Freddie Barrie - August 28, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
Freddie's has loads of biccies but it's really difficult for him to get it out!

We tried Marmite this morning! - She wasnt to keen to start with but soon got really into it.
They say you either love it or hate it
Paste added to this weeks shopping list

Morning all - Just a KONG update lol - We tried just chicken paste OMG i thought my puppies eyes were going to pop out, Millie loved it!! and i can now get out of the door in one piece (she hates me leaving her in the mornings so a kong is the destraction i need to get out of the house)

Thanks again everyone for your ideas

Jo
