Title: agility competition with Rogie
Description: our second competition

Hi everyone,
Yesterday we went to the Peterborough show ground to a limited KC agility competition, organised by Spalding DTC. It was Rogie's second competition. She did much better than last time. She was really focussed and was able to wait at the start (the first time she was too excited to do so, while she is very good in the training, the competition atmosphere was a bit too much then) and wait for me. As it was a limited show she was in grade 1-2 combination classes and one class was grade 1-2-3.
The open grade 1-2 agility course went well until a photographer wanted to take a closer shot of Rogie and moved under the rope into the ring. He got a real nice close shot then as Rogie decided to go and say hello. When I saw what Rogie was planning to do I called and she came to me straight away, but we lost our clear round....The rest of the round was flawless.
The grade 1-2-3 jumping was really complicated with lots of changes etc. When we walked it before the competition started I thought I would never be able to do it. But Rogie proved me wrong and did perfectly until she noticed the big number near the weaves (which was in line of her running) which she wanted to look at, as that she had never seen before. The rest of the course was flawless again and fast, so I was really pleased with her. We watched others do the round and hardly anyone got through that round without mistakes, so I think Rogie really has some potential.
The helterskelter, grade 1-2, was good fun and we got a 9th place outof 150 combinations with a clear round, so there she has beaten quite a few grade 2 dogs. *nerner*
Rogie did not think much of her rosette, so I bought her a nice chew which she loved! She rolled over it (nice smelly cows tendon), and ate it completely!
I can't wait to go to our next agility competition!
