Title: First obedience class

Took Tess along to training last night and it is a proper obedience class, not pet obedience like we have to been to before.

They are all really helpful and understanding of her issues with dogs and people when on the lead.

She did well at the finish / heelwork position but will not sit in front of me for a present!! SHe sat sideways, leaned against me, everything but!! With the follow she bounced around and tried to grab the treat so we have LOTS of homework.

They did say though that she wants to learn and that I can let her figure things out more rather than showing her. WIth Vince you need to show him a bit more or he switches off.

So...really pleased and I'm hoping that doing something she enjoys will help her to ignore other dogs!!!!

Sounds like you are on the right track. Let us know how Tess gets on.

I hope so coz at first I nearly went back home - I'd never seen her so wound up!

Practised a bit in the park early this evening - don't think she's ever been walked on a lead - she's worse than a pup!! SHe pulls and when you try and get her attention with a treat she walks backwards and bounces!! lol

BTW - it's Ramsey dog training club and the lady who runs it is called Di. She also breeds Aussies

Sorry and i know i'm probably the only one on here that does
BUT I LOVE AUSSIES
Not sure about the no tail bit but they remind me of Parker so much.

Leanne i wish i could have videoed Poppy first time i took her to Agility and let her off she ran wild barking and snapping at everyone and everything - looking back i realised it was too much at once.

But wouldn't life be easy with hindsight.
