Title: Activity/treat balls - what do you put in them?

leanneh - February 17, 2009 01:25 PM (GMT)
My two LOVE their treat balls and I usually put some James Well Beloved complete in them to keep them busy in the afternoon when I'm at work.

Trouble is the biscuits are very small and they manage to get them out really quickly. Can anyone recommend something else or some large biscuit complete?

I know that CSJ Salmon is larger but I think you have to buy a huge sack so I don't really want to do that for the small amount I use (I buy the small bags of JWB)

Thanks!!

In pet smart I buy the pick n mix biscuits and break them up, they do small markies which work well - We got a treat ball but you can ajust the size of the hole for the treats - It wasnt expensive about £5.00 i think. I cant leave a treat ball down, millie eats the treats then starts on the ball lol - little love how about stuffing kongs for the afternoon too?
If you get stuck i can send you a small bag of CSJ - We got lamb n rice and champ csj (just started her on champ, its chicken)

I also use some of the dogs biscuit in the buster cube which takes longer to get out as it has a maze thing inside.have to remove at bedtime as its hard plastic and bangs around! With kongs you can use the paste and you can freeze them in the summer too.(or fridge for those teething pups.)
treat balls are quite easy release so i'll be watching this thread with interest!
Good Luck!

Kongs and treat balls are easy for them to empty!! THey love their buster cube and tug a jug so much that I like to leave them down most days.

I could make some homemade biscuits or tuna cake but would be something else to add to the to do list!!

I do put in some of the mini JWB crackerjack treats (little bone shapes) - they're funny shaped so are harder to get out.
