Sassy is an adorable, very loving 13 year old Labrador X Collie who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Plymouth, Devon. Sassy came into rescue because her owner became too ill to care for her. Her owner was desperate for help with Sassy and was overjoyed and relieved that we were able to help her beloved old dog.

Sassy settled really quickly in her foster home and she gets on great with children. Her foster carer tells us that she has a very placid, gentle nature and is a well behaved house guest with perfect manners.
She loves walks and is friendly towards other dogs, although will grumble and snap at young dogs who persistently worry her. She walks well on the lead, and when off lead never ventures too far from you. Her recall is excellent.
She will chase cats that run away from her, but she gets on well with the two pet rabbits in her foster home and the cat next door that stands his ground!
Sassy loves company and is very affectionate but she doesnt mind being left on her own for 4/5 hours with no problems.

Sassy has been vet-checked since coming into our care. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and flea and worm treated. Sassy has been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. As this has been detected early it is being controlled by diet. She is arthritic in her back legs and is a little slow and stiff when getting up, but this eases within minutes and shes then raring to go!
Sassy travels well in the car, although you have to lift her in as she cant jump due to her arthritis.
