I had exactly the same problem with my rescue collie. I feed twice a day, he would have 1 meal one day, pick at meals the next, not eat the next etc etc.
I found it very difficult to find a food that he liked.
I have since changed to raw food about a year ago, and he now is the first to eat every meal. I cannot remeber when he last missed eating a meal.
Funnily though, he has lost around 2 kilos. Part of this could be his age as he is now 12yrs. But he looks healhier even with the weight loss. So I am thinking that he was possibly intolerant to the fillers in complete foods and they literally filled him up, which is why he skipped meals. !!

Hi Zakbob, sounds like you would like to try something new, it gets you that way when you watch your poor little dog not eating.
I dont want to start preaching about Raw feeding as I am honestly not the person to do that as I have adapted my feeding around my freezer size, lifestyle and my dogs, but will be happy to let you know what I feed if your still interested. There will be many others on here who can also give advice.
Firstly look up/google Raw feeding and /or BARF. If you still like the idea, think about and check suppliers in your area. You may also need to invest in a freezer to keep the dog food in. Sorry dont be put of by this, but you need to think it through.
If you just would like to see how your collie gets on, Pets at Home do stock frozen food in raw mince form in 400g and 2kg bags. Be worth trying to see how you get on. You could also try some chicken wings, supermarket value ones are good. Not sure how big your collie is, but you should feed approx 2-3% of thier body weight depending on how active they are.
Good Luck

The amp fish is OK but I dont think it would suit as a permanent diet, maybe one or two meals a week. Plus fish is very expensive that way.
Although I feed mainly Raw, I do feed a couple of meals a week on biscuit. I just keep it up for convenience for if I am away and cant get raw meat , for example. To help supplement their diet I give my collies, natutal yoghurt, low fat cottage cheese and pilchards in tomatoe sauce. These all mix well on biscuits and can make them more appertising. My fussy collie will eat all of these mixes, but my young one will only eat biscuits with pilchards.
As for veggies, you dont need to steam. If you have a liquidiser, chop up raw fruit and veg and make a veggie pulp to add to their meals. Or freeze in a kong.
You can also give them a raw carrot whole as a treat to chew on.
Hope this gives you more options to try
