Mr Rushy Pants had a "not very pants at all" day at UKA on Saturday..
His first run of the day was a very fast steeplechase course and he was a bit cautious, but did some nice work .... 9th place.
Second run of the day - a complete stinker of a beginners jumping course (beginners my ar$e!!!! - more like an old intermediate!!) and in the time I was standing watching I didn't see any clear rounds. Anyway, he was a VERY good boy - really listened, worked really well and we ended up 2nd! (queue much leaping around and excitement from me)
Third run of the day was another steeplechase - I was still on cloud nine so got him EEd, but again he worked very nicely.
Last run of the day was a nice agility. He waited nicely on his contacts, weaved beautifully, sent on nicely (too much at one point as he got miles ahead of me on a straight run and did a pirouette waiting for me to catch up LOL!!!) ... and was lying in 5th place when we left shortly before the end of the class. I didn't stay to find out where he ended up, but didn't really care as I was just so happy with him.
I always feel slightly reticent about bragging about results from UKA shows, as the standard there is not comparable with KC shows, so we just have to see how we get on at our first KC grade 3 at Wallingford in a few weeks.... but needless to say that I am very pleased with my little man.

Should also say many congrats to Nicola and Jay who won the steeplechase that Rush came 9th in. ::wave::
