Title: Very worried now

zack - May 26, 2009 10:06 AM (GMT)
I'm very worried about Cody my 7 month old bc.
Have only noticed this in the last few days he has clicky hips.

I have moved his back legs about and nothing but in the morning
when he moves a bout i can hear it. Not all the time.

Is this him growing or could there be a big health problem on the way.

What to do . Help please.

I have stopped him from running at park just now and reduced his walk to 1/2 hour.

I'd take him to the vets and get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

Good luck. I'd get him checked out, but it may not all be doom and gloom. I have heard that sometimes it can be a growing thing - fingers crossed.

Just back from vets with Cody .
Had his joints checked and vet has given him a clean bill of health.

She told me that i have to cut out all over exertion for the next few months.
This means more time on the lead and some free running & swimming

She said his frame has grown well but his muscles need to catch up.
The clicking is due to him still growing but as his muscles grow this should improve and the click should go away. Was told about an additive for his meal
that will help him with muscle growth but was that pleased i have forgotten the name.

Feel better now but will keep an eye on his progress and give you all an update.
Just told him we can go to the funday at Stirling now and he thanked me in his usual way dogbite .

I had a feeling it was simply down to growing. I had trouble with one of my hips when it was still developing and calmed down once it had finished. Same thing can happen with dogs.
