Description: got one

BCBrie - May 27, 2009 10:51 AM (GMT)
After seeing it on here then seeing a full team wearing them at Abingdon this weekend, i thought i should get one for Brie (as she is predominantly black and heats up VERY fast. I ordered it 2 nights ago and got it this morning. The team I saw had the red/yellow one so i thought id get the blue/silver one for her:

That's great - I'm thinking of getting them for my two. Can you let me know where you ordered it from.

Did she mind having it put on? Paul thought that a colling bandana might be best for ours as they might not like the coat

I got it off ebay. was a penny cheaper there hahaha (not the reason i got it.. on ebay they only had blue and on another site they only had red.. i opted for the blue)

Brie was fine with it on. all i did was adjust the velcro bit around her neck so i could just slip it on and off her head. the velco underneath was fine. i walked her in the kitchen a little and she didnt mind it (mind you like i said, it wasnt soaked lol, but when its hot, im sure she wont mind it on her). Brie has shirts, so i was pretty sure she'd be fine with it, but like everything else, it was a shot in the dark. she might not have liked it.

thats the seller i got it from on ebay. Brie's is medium (for dogs 30-60lbs)

then this is the site that has both the red and blue (scroll down a bit)

Ooh can you both let me know how you get on so I can decide whether to get a coat or bandana.

I can tell you that the Cool Coat works just great. I put it on Milly after each Flyball race and waiting between races in Division. It has made a big difference as she suffers very badly from over-heating when racing. It helps her performance in this respect.

The coat needs a good soak in order to get the gell activated. I keep it wet in a plastic bag once soaked..

The only improvement that would be nice to see is that most, and certainly Milly's dog-games fleece harness has a lead attachment along the spine. The Cool Coat does not have an opening at that position to attach a lead. So lead attachment has to be at the neck collar - which I tend not to have on during racing as she pulls badly on a lead attached collar due to her excitement in competition.

we've used these in the past as well and they are very effective!

i put mine back in the fridge just to see how cold i can keep it, with the idea of wedging them in the cool box so they are kept cool for shows.

each has their advantages and disadvantages. i can imagine going for the whole coat but then 2 of mine are short haired breeds and would get too cold too quick.

tinka didnt mind hers on but twig went in to wash overdrive rolleyes* ah well she will appreciate it if shes hot. :P

I;ve just ordered a K9 bandana to try out on my two!

They have been getting hot already this week so thought it would be good for summer

Collies Rule! - May 29, 2009 07:42 AM (GMT)
Where did you get the bandana's from?

If you go to agility net website and then agility warehouse there is a section called hot weather coolers or something

I'm struggling with adding a link and am at work - let me know if you have trouble finding it.

I bought a medium and it was £15 with postage
