Likewise.

The Rooky Racers will be racing first thing on Saturday in Ring 2, and camped on pitches H31 - H34. Drop by and say Hello!

We are racing off 20.77 seed time, but we beat that a week ago at Stockbridge - 20.37 - so we know, if the weather is cool, that we can beat our current seed time.

Lets hope the weather is nice, but cool for the dogs!.

Regards

Chris

We'll be there also, going down Friday and coming home Sunday. It will be quite nervy being as Sleet has only been in open since June and only ran in one starters tournament before that.

Our main team came last in division 11, ran some low 19 times but had a few dogs running out etc.

2nd team came first in div 29.

We had 4 teams entered, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. 3 out of those won their divisions and the fastest div 2 team came third. My sleet ran in div 15. It was both our first times there so was great to come home with a 1st. It was also my first time camping. Normally I can't because of work. I had a fab time...crappy work again next week though...boohoo.

Well done to the Bassets who won Div one and became the champions of 2009. The div one racing was really exciting.

I took hundreds of photos but yet to upload them. I'm way too tired tonight. I've just showered and need some food then BED!!!

The Rooky Racers had a great weekend. Watching Div 1 was just electric!

We came 2nd in Division - even though we won all our races. How come? I made a simple error on the Team Sheet. Our 5th dog was measured on the day at 12", but I, in error, put down 13". We raced the 5th dog in the 3rd race, correctly as measured at 12". The judge discovered this in Race 4, took advice, and disqualified us for not running at 13" as per Team sheet. We argued that this was a simple error, did not affect racing , and in any case, the Height card should take the prececdence. We were overruled. We were then made to run races 4 and 5 at 13", not at the 12" as measured. Race 3 was overturned and we were made to lose it, even though we won it, under a DSQ.

What if I had put down 7" instead of 12" on the team sheet, would we have been forced to race at 7"!!? No, of course not, the Height Card would have taken precedence.

However, we know we came first beersmilie , but the record shows as as coming 2nd - which we are still very happy with, in our first season of racing as a team. *clap*

It was a fantastic weekend all round though. Well done the Bassets for a stellar performance!
