Title: Statement re Home-A-Dog

HomeADog - August 21, 2009 09:27 AM (GMT)

Demelda & Colin Penkitty wish it to be known that they are no longer associated with Home-A-Dog, Ty Cwn, Llanbed, Gwynedd LL45 2NL

The decision to severe all ties with Home-A-Dog has been a difficult one, however, our position here has become unworkable.

As most of you know there have been problems with planning issues since we moved from our home in Cornwall to take over from the late Ann Fowler in April 2008. Issues we were not made aware of until we had already given up our jobs and home and were actually living here on site. Lots of promises and assurances were given by Mrs Fowler and the board of Trustees regarding our future at Home-A-Dog, at best we were misled and naive at worse manipulated and deceived.

During the last 16 months we have worked tirelessly regardless of the problems here and have homed over 300 dogs in that time. However, there comes a point when even the most stoic amongst us must accept defeat.

Restrictions imposed upon us by the powers that be (Snowdonia National Park) and indeed by our own Trustees have made a mockery of what in our opinion rescue is all about.

Therefore, after much soul searching we have made the decision to move on.

Can we take this opportunity to thank all our loyal supporters for all the campaigning and constant support over a very difficult time. You are legend!!!!

We may be leaving Home-A-Dog but we are not giving up on rescue. Watch out for our new venture Border Collies In Need.
