the 02 alty has 240 hp, 03 245hp, 04 245 hp, 05 250 hp, and the 06 has 250 on the se and 260 on the se-r

my question is, the 02 max has 255 hp, is it faster then the alties 02 to 06 or is the alty faster then the 02 max reguardless of the alty years 02 to 06????............

and also, the max 04 to 06 has 265 hp, are they faster then the alties 02 to 06???.........

It all comes down to a drivers race. The H.P. are too close to really say who is faster. I have beat plenty of 6th, 5th and 4th gens with my altima. It's all how you drive.

They are the same engines in the cars with similar curb weights. Driver makes all the difference. However, the 6 speed maximas are geared better for a race, so assuming drivers equal, it would edge out, but hardly. The biggest difference between the cars is style preference.

But needless to say, there are more 5 spd Altimas than 6 speed maximas, and a 5 spd Alti would embarass an auto max...

I personally think the 5spd are better.

Other than that its drivers race.

And the SER has a slightly better exhaust and it revs about 500 rpms higher.

well for sure it has to do with weight i would say a 03 max compared to a 04 is about a 200 pound difference welll everyone knows that for every 100 pounds its 1 second off ur time at the track well this could be handled different if u aare a good driver now the altima the the 05 ser is the same weight as the 03 max so slight advantige and the ser is made for racing more than the 04 max ever will be.
