just took my rims outta storage... and it looks like they have the plague. The machined lip is all covered in spots which don't come off even with degreaser or metal polish. It looks like the silver coating has just been eaten away by something. Is there anything I can do without buying a new set of rims?

Did you wash them before putting them away for winter?
nope... usually do. didnt do it this time... and it bit me in the ass, I'm assuming road salt just ate away at the finish.
Yea, that's what I'm thinking...
i don't know what to do now... Have them resurfaced, have them powdercoated, i dont even know how to desrcibe the problem, lol
Look around for a wheel repair shop; it might be expensive, but it will get fixed...
