i don't have access to a welder - does anybody on here??? i need somebody who can weld for cheap or free and somebody who can paint for cheap or free. let me know whats up.

I'm not an EXPERT at fiberglassing, but I know what I'm doing with it. I do some work on boats and other items with fiberglass.
My dad knows how to weld pretty good. We have an older style welder. I don't know how to weld though.

i could bondo the emblem holes and maybe the keyhole, but not the license plate box!

I can weld. I would have to do at either job of mine. Undersatnd if its welded you will then have alot of sanding to clean the welds and make it look level and factory looking. Make a piece of steel to fit in and go from there . You will have to fill any low spots with bondo and sand the high spots from after the welding. Welding does not make it perfect but it will do what you want. Get steel a bith thicker than what the lid is. Do not get S.S. it is awful to weld to our factory steel.

thanks for the info bill....i don't think i can really do this project while i'm at school, it'll have to be a college break type thing. i'll let you know if i need any help though.
ps - i think we should start a thread that lists what everybody on here can do as far as custom work, installs, tools avail, etc. i think it would be helpful.
