lol well i need to figure out what I will get im thinking 20% but im worried about the cops as well as the visibility for myself at night.

i have 20% on my car. visibility is not a problem, and the cops don't usually bother me. out of the nearly two years of having the tints, i only have 1 tint ticket and that was from the pike.

Just go legal. But thats my opinion. It is dark enough and you won't have to worry as much about cops. If you get tints you are supposed to go to the dmv and have them put this yellow stick on saying it is the correct percentage, but I never did that.

so without that sticker they could make me go to the DMV?

My window tint was 5%. All I could see at night in my rear view mirror was car headlights.

thats part of the reason why I got a rear backup cam I will be installing.

i got like 15-20% on mine, they are basically the same, but visibility is no problem and havent got pulled over for them yet and its been a year. knock on wood

Side windows is 35%. Rear window there is no limit. It is illegal to tint the windshield but not the side windows.

You can tint the sides 35% or lighter, rear anything as long as you have side mirrors, front window can only be tinted within the tint line on the top which is imprinted on your front window normally on the drivers side about 4in down or so. Yes my tints are 20% and illegal but I like them anyways. The guy at the DMV you talked to prob was miss informed or just an asshole who doesn't like tints. The way I figure if a cop pulls me over a will lower my windows so he can easyly see inside. The reason tinting is such an issue is because of cops getting killed when the guy in the back has a gun and the cop doesn't know. Yes they could make me go to the DMV but ill deal with it if it happens. If you stick to the law then their is never any probs. Just make sure you got the sticker on ur windows that says the actual tint if you really wana be legal. They cant say shit if you follow that.

When the cop pulled me over, I had to roll down my windows and he told me to roll them up a bit, so he could see the tint.

I had both windows rolled down so you couldn't see them.

I have 2 layers of tints. It measures out to be 14% front two, 8% rear two, 4% rear windshield, 50% front windshield.

I had originally got 35% on the sides, and 20% on the back windshield, but then that wasnt dark enough after a while. *I tried to go the legal route but it just didnt work* lmao

So then I got 35% over the front 2, 20% over the rear three. As a 2nd layer. But the 2nd layer is just dark smoke.

I did have a issue with cops once or twice. More memorably once... It was during the day in Fairfield getting off exit 24 I think it was...

I ended up swapping out the front two windows with stock non tinted glass windows. Taking a pic, and sending that to the DMV. Then putting my original tinted windows back in.

But Bill is right about his tint info, it IS, 35% on all side windows, and whatever darkness on rear. Any tint on the FRONT windshield below 6" is of course illegal.

Yes you can see thru it fine, even in the rain. Now I know some people who have 20% on their windshield, and I have driven there cars at night in NY. Now THAT was tough. Especially with dark streets, even with HIDS, doesnt matter. That shit is just DARK.

I have 20% metallic on my 6th gen all around. But I have a light interior. With the 4th gen, interior lighting and opening sunroof helps when cops are around and rolling down windows. Not all, just front.

hey while everyone is on the tint subject, anyone know a good place close to trumbull that does a great tint job? for a cheap price ofcourse...

b-port is good i use to live down there and im there like almost every other day. bridgeport, fairfield, trumbull, monroe, milford im around these places atleast once or twice a week. anyone use the tint man in monroe? i drove by it a couple times and stopped to see, but it looked really bad.
