How low do you want to go?
kevt2207 - July 4, 2008 05:55 AM (GMT)
Tein coilovers, they are like $850 brand new, but tein or ksport coilovers are your best bet for lowering
hybridioN - July 4, 2008 04:02 PM (GMT)
you shouldn't look for a cheap way of lowering your car, that will only lead to major problems. a cheap way would be to buy a set a springs and use them on your OEM struts. that will cause your OEM struts to blow rather quickly, but if you research what you want you'll get a better option. (ie. springs w/ a good set a struts or spend a little more and do a coilover set up.)

well i want them to just sit just over the tires when i put any rims on but for now just to sit over the stock se's
hybridioN - July 4, 2008 04:53 PM (GMT)
well you'd probably be better off spending a few dollars more to get the coilovers, so you have the advantage of adjusting your set-up when you feel like.

I have ground controls from Ebach currently installed on my car and I am willing to sell them. You should pick up atleast some KYB shocks to use with them though. They will work on stock as well. Its all about how long you want them shocks around. With my ground effects you can lower your car front stock all the way down to 3 inch. Hell I am willing to sell them at a great deal if you can get them off my car. Let me know...

Check seller feedback when looking on ebay. Even if there is a few negatives look at how many positive there is. Sometime you get some real stupid people that leave negative. Check quality of the product and so on.

Like I said. Check out the ebay vendor. Most are legit and are actually a dealer and not just some person. Though I would not recommend buying used suspension parts.
jdm*maxima - July 6, 2008 04:55 AM (GMT)
ya im not gonna buy any used parts i just want to get the tail lights the smoked and the black headlights thats about it im gonna get my lips from stillin and i know some local people to get some other parts too
KJS2023 - July 6, 2008 07:05 AM (GMT)
my car currently is not lowered. The ones I bought I got maybe 8 months ago so I cannot remember where I got them from. They cost me i believe $400 shipped. I found a site with the ones I own on it
http://www.import-racer.com/sku/gc6055-02on their its $380. I would be willing to beat any price you find thats legitimate. Part of the reason I am willing to give a great deal for them is because I want my other springs put on so i don't have to worry about lowering them all the time. I figure a fair price for what I have is $200 with the swap. Let me know what you think about that.

TEIN SS are very good so are JIC Magic. Those are pretty much my top two. Koni's are also very good.
I currently have Tokico Illumina shocks and springs (the white and reds) on my 4th gen. I've had them for probably 3+ years now easy. It's not a crazy drop, maybe 1.5 front, 1.3 back.
The 4th gens don't have strong chassis's like the 5th gens. You'd have to upgrade the linkage to be able to handle a lower drop appropriately over a long period of time.
I plan to do coilovers, but I'm not cheaping out on them. Suspension is very important. I'm looking to spend around 1000-2000$ on all components for it. I'd upgrade the linkage and other components that may have been worn out over the years of the car being a DD.
Of course on stock rims it wont look like you have much of a drop, but once you do 18's or 19's, it will be more noticeable. Especially once they settle. (speaking of the Tokico white and reds)
