jdm*maxima - October 13, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
i have a 95 se for now just to cruise until dad gets a new car than im getting the 99 se 5 speed and want to go all out but want to do motor first now my main goal is boost but dont know if i should swap the 3.5 for the power or just build the 3.0 but idk cause im scared that if i swap ill mess it up and dont want to have a car just sitting there for along time

help me let me know what i should do

nismomaxx - October 13, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
3.5 swap.. cuz the 3.0 sc bolts up to it!

jdm*maxima - October 13, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
but wat will be better a sc or tc

nismomaxx - October 13, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
sc is much more reliable

If you do the 3.5 swap, you have to change over to the 3.0 timing components.

well i want to get the stillen kit but cant find it on the site where can i get one used

and what u mean change over to 3.0 compoundents doesnt it already have them

Suicidalspd99 - October 15, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
not on a 3.5

jdm*maxima - October 15, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
thats wat im saying if im taking out my 3.0 than why would i need to swap over 3.0 timing parts it already has them

Suicidalspd99 - October 16, 2008 02:47 AM (GMT)
What I mean is you need to take the parts from your 3.0 and install them on the 3.5

I'd stay away from any turbo kit you find for a Maxima. Most I have seen are undersized and usually just run off one bank.

Stillen stopped producing S/C kits for the 4th gen Maxima, so you will have to find one used. I don't go on much, but on the big org and nycmax they pop up every couple weeks for sale.

If I didn't sell mine I would have been looking into a 3.5 swap this winter. There is a lot to know about it because it isn't a drop and go. You live in Texas, which is where Stephen Max lives. I'm not sure if he still does them, but he at least would be good to ask as many questions as you can.

Oh yeah read the All Motor section on the big org. You can get plenty of information from asking questions, but not everything you need to know.

well i have been thinkin i love my 4th gen and all but i want the power so im think i will drive it till i come across a 03 and than sell my 4th and buy that than get the supercharger from stillen for it isnt it like 4 grand for the 3.5

Zach95SE - October 20, 2008 01:37 PM (GMT)
Stillen doesn't make one specifically for any any Maxima anymore. They only made one for the 4th gen which people would make new piping for. You really should just read on the big org in the All Motor or the FI section. You have a LOT to learn.

Remember the fastest Maxima is a 4th gen with a 3.5 swap.
