Title: Tranny Rebuild Kit (auto)
Description: where can I go for this???
Sci - March 11, 2009 02:05 AM (GMT)
Wanna rebuild my trans before I do the SSv4 tiptronic conversion, what should I do first when it comes to this? I've heard you can replace stock parts for upgraded clutch packs ,high stall torque converters, and valve bodies.Does any one know if all of this comes in a kit or each part must be bought seperately?

Have you tried ebay? I've read posts on other forums where people found deals their rebuild kits. Check out what this guy did to get the most out his auto and while your there check out his site. its pretty sick.

THanx for the link homie  appreciate it yea i've been doin the research on this 4 5/6 months now and I'm getting closer 2 the purchase/install of this ssv4 I''ve read tons of post by Jime,he so sick wit it when it comes to this Im just finding the right person to help me wire this RIGHT the 1st time did u see his vidz on that 10 sec 4th gen??? f***in ridiculus my goal is high to mid 12's w/my 5.5 gen but I kinda got a long way before I get there but this will put me 1sec quicker to my goal lol

Yeah I've seen all his vids. those mustangs and trans-ams got spanked. My max is a 5 speed, but I have modified ford transmissions to shift under higher line pressure and its amazing how well an auto can shift when its set up right. will your new trans have limited slip diff?

Sci I thought I was gonna help u wire that up? Im still down for it I plan on doing it to my ride when I get some extra cash. OHh and the high stall torque converter will prob be a bad idea for you if you want to keep that your daily driver. Every time you stop and then go you gotta launch at the rpm it is at being 2500 or whatever you buy.

LOL yea those vidz are crazy the way the Max launches off the line is almost unbeliveable the trans ams and mustangs got ROASTED it seemed like it wasn't even close no one at the track would ever expect that from a 4dr fwd car I think theres a way 2 increase line pressure via the ssv4 but not sure did u read the DRmod on Jimes page??? is that gonna cause long term damage on the the tranny???( did it cause damage on the rebuilt Ford trannys too???) And most likely it will be limited slip less there is a way 2 posi a fwd car lol

Oh sh**!!! whadup homie??? long time thought u took a hiatus or sold the MAx :o U r still down 4 this? thats waz good then did u ever get a chance 2 look at the wiring diagram??? I'm just learning the basics of wiring now so it looks intense to me but may b its not as intricate 2 someone who's been at it 4 awhile but looks like no walk in the park regardless + u get 2 maps pre programed for the max from the factory w/ your specs (1 race map and 1 street map 4 auto mode) but 2 fine tune it u have serial ports 4 cpu tuning but that looks scary to since auto shifts are by speed and not gear and if u dnt have the right spd for the right gear it can confuse the cpu if maps are not perfect and cause unwanted shifts ( ive read about minor kinks that caused this) I prolly wnt be playin around w/the maps once I set my specs or atleast until I learn about it after sumtime but just sumthin 2 be aware of also its a gd idea 2 def get the LCD screen to to see what mode your in,what gear your in, and other info so that needs 2 be wired up too, guess i'll skip the high stall TC cuz I still gotta get groceries in my shit too lol

we can deffinitly wire it up but it will take alot of time to do it neat and right. As far as programming Ive got a beater laptop thats gonna be the programer for it. The LCD I agree is a must I still need to decide on a home for that. The mod I prob wont consider though until July on my vacation if I get aproved for it. This is deffinitly a multi day task to install and tweak.

You guys should check this out. look at the 3rd one down. These are tranny upgrade kits for turbo or nitrous maximas.
trasgo kitThese mods do not damage your tranny. Stock shifts are set for the comfort of the driver, but can ride the clutch packs between gears under hard acceleration. Firm shifts will actually make your clutch packs last much longer by limiting slippage. shift kits are an excellent way to extend the life of your tranny. BTW my build ford tranny is absolutely bullet proof.

I would be happy to build your transmissions. you guys should pick up some junk yard trannys though, so we wont have to take your cars off the road untill the day we install the race transmissions.
I like to clean and paint them with wheel coating before the install. check out how sweet mine came out.
