I am planning a spring maxima meet and track day for CT maxima owners. Saturday April 18 . The plan is to have everyone meet on saturday morning 9am at the Dunkin Donuts on Washington St. in Middletown next to the CT Beverage Mart. Make sure you go to the right D&D because there are two on that street. We'll have coffee and donuts and then drive as a group to Lebanon Valley Drag Way. Anyone can run their car. If you have any questions about what you will need to race your car just let me know. Right now I am in the process of contacting all CT owners on Cardomain and CTmaximas.org to generate some interest, so hit me up if you wanna go. Should be a great chance to learn and get ideas from other maxima owners as well as a fun day of drag racing.

Yeah I didnt know about the Uconn meet, but I wanna go to both. I'm usually pretty psyched to do car stuff the day after going to the strip.

I would like to go, but have to work that saturday. I am sure there will be a few drag weekends this year. I wanna go more often if I can.

whats up boss man. you should definitely go. I just came in from the garage. I'm welding up a special exhaust setup just for the track. its gonna be nasty. I am always down for a trip to the strip suicidal. i usually go 4 or 5 times a year so don't sweat it.

Your sister's car is faster anyway... HAHA... She should be spending all that money on a S/C, just too bad she has to spend it on some body work I hear.

lol. yeah thats the face people will make. I run a very quiet exhaust on the street, but I want to get the most out of my car on track day.

Nah... I won't be there. My truck has no business at a track. Will probably buy some mods for it this summer. Gotta get some money first.

This is the exhaust I made just for this weekend. It's a side exit behind the front wheels.
I also had to weld in a bung for the O2 sensor. This will let me shed the weight of the exhaust system and gain me some hp. :D

Well Ive never gone to the track but have always wanted to. I've got the day off but a lil prob. The day before I'm getting coilovers and my rims installed. If im lucky I will get it early enough to re-install my box in the trunk or im not going. Theres no way im driving that far without music. Sci if I go you have to go since I last saw you I put slotted roters on my ride and of course fixed my stereo I dunno if I told you but my sub was set on inverted during the CTxtreem show finally it not only sounds great but can hit 121db ohh and I plan on taking off my governer in the next week or so if you down for doing it. I plan on putting it on a switch considering when you do your check engine light will be on until you reset it.

I forgot to ask how much is it to race for the day there? Do I need anything specific for my car to race? I know some tracks require a 5 point harness and a helmet which I have neither. Ohh and what are they going to inspect at inspections?

You don't need a helmet unless you run faster than a 14 flat (stock 4th gen should run high 14s or low 15s). you definitely won't need a harness. i think thats for 12 sec or faster. Just make sure your battery is bolted down and you have all your lug nuts. thats all they really look for on a street car. :P Good luck on the suspension upgrades. if you need any help let me know.

Well shit hit the fan for me today on my way to work my check engine light popped on. I pulled over and scanned it getting a P0400 EGR flow malfunction. I call my machanic asking him if he could look into that for friday when he puts my suspention on and he tells me my tein coilovers wont be their till next week. So now not only do I have a terrible suspention but also engine issues. Sorry but theres no way im racing in that condition. I deffinitly want to go next time. We all should get a meet going in CT some time soon though. I work in Cromwell now so berline turnpike isnt so far when im there. Otherwise id say MiddleTown would be a good bet.

That sux. have you tried cleaning your EGR valve and tube? they tend to clog with carbon.
