yesterday i was gettin on the highway and rite before i hit 60 it felt like i had no power and i gave it so gas and my RPMs went up but i didnt go anywhere untill i let it go and it and it switched gears. it seems like it only happens at 60-80 mph but after that the car is fine?

do u think its the tranny ?? and if so should i get a new one or have this one rebuilt ??

Sounds similar to what mine was doing. If I pushed the pedal far enough to downshift, it would slip, the RPM's would rev, and then it would catch. It got worse for about 6 months and then finally I couldn't get past 2nd gear.

Rebuild cost me $2250, so unless u got that kind of cash layin around, drive it till it fails

PLease check your fluid and add if it is low. Then next would be a trans service. Don't just waste big money on a trans unless it totally fails.

damn i dont have that type of money so i might just try to find a used one

are you throwing any codes? or have you removed any fuses on your dash (under the steering wheel)?

Sell those rims first before you sell the supercharger!

i got some codes but nothing to do wit the tranny

i dont have the rims on this year i put them on my girls car

have you replaced your MAF sensor? if not, chances are it's that and not the transmission.

i havent replaced it yet ....why could that be a problem ?

definitely, especially if you have a 00-01 which i'm pretty sure you do. a maf sensor on the fritz will dog your car down, and it'd make you think it's the tranny and all sorts of other things. what's your mileage? if its anything more than 100k, go ahead and get yourself a new MAF and see if that does the trick. with that said, do you still have the stock intake or an aftermarket one?

ive got a aftermarket intake (adapter and filter) but i still have the stock one ....if i put the stock one back on do u think it would make a difference ?

is there a way to check if my MAF is broken ?

It might. I think it was out of a 2001. Might have been a 2000 though. We can cross maf numbers and see if they match up.

IIRC, a code will show up when you scan it.

a new maf is like ~$110 and you can get it at nissan.

a 01 MAF will work because both 00 and 01 are DE-K's.

so i fixed the problem today it was my plugs , two of them were burn to a crisp lol
i got some Bosh Platinum's today and now the car runs mint!

it could be the MAF but when the maf went on my friends 5th gen it wouldnt pass 4000rpms and it was a DOG it wasnt only at higher speeds it was every gear from a dig or a roll.. could be the tranny, when my tranny went in my old 4th gen it would get stuck in 4th gear (auto) and when id take off from lights or stop signs if i didnt do a rolling stop id have to give it a lot of gas just to get it to move a little bit.. i changed the tranny fluid and filter and it was fine and i sold it few months later.. try a tranny flush and filter.. i have a friend who has the machine to do it and i can prolly get you a really good deal

i had the same problem with my tranny i just bought 1 for $250 @ the junkyard and now my car shift perfect, but my MAF is a problem on my 2000 max, do i have to get the ECU flash when i change the MAF @ the dealer or not
