I went to roll down my passenger side window today and it wouldnt work. Tried the main controls and the passenger side controls and nothing!!!

Anyone have the same problem? What could it be? :(

window motor can be bad.. do the other windows go down? its not a silly mistake like, windows are locked right haha.. window motor can be bound up and not letting it move.. did you just buy this car and did it not work? was it working before? need a little more info to steer you towards the right direction.

All Of the other windows work. The lock is off LOL. I can't hear the relay click either. I bought the car about 6 months ago and eerything worked fine.

Does the power lock work on that door? I've been told that the 5th gens' windows are tied into the cars ECU and can have some strange electronic problems. If it isn't the motor it could be tricky to fix. 1st step would be to check for power at the motor with a volt meter.

it may be the motor.. pull the door panel check it out.. if its the same motor off a 4th gen i have one thats still good. its off my car both my back window motors went at the same time.. but the power locks still work i just disconnected the motor itself. maybe yours has a short in the wire and grounded out.

Time to break out the multimeter:~p your power window motor incorporates a a limit switch which may be faulty. The GRN/WHT and the WHT/Black should not have continuity on the motor. this should be a normally open switch. The motor should receive power on BlU and GRN.

So the sunroof doesn't open either.. It flips up and closes but won't open...

Fuse maybe?

Check fuse #12 in the interior fuse box. It should be a 7.5 amp. Also check fuse F in the fuse box in the engine bay. That's a 30 amp. Both of these could break power to the sun roof.

if you really want, we can just straight up trade cars.. the only car i dont have in my drive way is the 5.5 gen! my sunroof works and driver and front passenger work but the rears down both have blown window motors =/

my bf checked the fuses and they were all good... also my power lock button on the passenger side door doesnt work either... but it works from the drivers side or the key pad!

im too pickey with max's only want a 5.5 gen sry :P

haha yeah your car is sick you'd have to be crazy to even think about trading it.

your situation is weird.. id pull the door panel off and start checkin wires, did the car ever sit for along time? is it garaged for winter or anything?

no a statey had it before me and drove halfway through the state everyday lol and i didnt garage it over the winter... but he might have...

okay so i fixed the sunroof problem... had nothing to do with the window...

i had to reset the sunroof i dont really know how i did it but if u open the tilt then close it then hold it closed it "resets" it... that didnt work for me but i kept doing it then kept pressing open and it would open the sunroof a few inches at a time... then when i closed it the tilt would open but the sunroof opened so i closed it and then the tilt worked....

make sence?! lol hard to explain! but i got it...

now back to the window problem.......

just go to the pike tomorrow night around 930, bobs parkinglot. im going unless it rains. and i think a few other members said the same. im willing to take a look at it, maybe be able to figure this thing out!

i have some side pipes for a 75 vette im doing to get ceramic coated.. does he do that? plus i have 18's i want powder coated.

What colors? ceramic i think theres not too many... just silver, black and tan??? im not too sure though... id have to ask him... and the sky's the limit for the wheels... but the more crazy the color the more it will cost... along with lips and stuff...

So the window randoMly worked today but now it's stuck open!! And it's gonna be raining all week!!! ALSO... My fog lights stopped working too!!! Wtfffffffffffffff

you got a electrical problem and its spreading.. check wires for cuts in them, maybe you have a mouse/rat living in your car chewing on wires. or water getting in somewhere and shorting stuff out.. or really bad luck. as for the headers and side pipes, ill let you know later in the week

you and your b/f should come to the pike on a saturday night and let a few of the members look at it.. too many electrical problems for just the switch to be bad would be my guess.. its something a little deeper

okay so its the master switch. use a friends switch to get my window up, then mine started working again, but im not touching it until i replace it cause i dont want it to get stuck down again with this crap weather. too bad i work 9-5 because ALL junk yards dont like to be open past 5 OR be open on saturdays UUGGH. lose lose situation

i only know its the master switch... finding one is my problem. i cont afford the 140 bucks they want at the dealer for one and i dont have time to go to the junk yard! lol
