My 02 maxima is standard and I have had it for almost 3 years now. I have only put 11k on it since I had another vehicle. I don't beat on it but who ever owned it before me didn't treat it really well aparently. Anyways, up until about a month and a half ago I went to play soccer and my car just wouldnt take off. I was giving it gas off the clutch and it wasn't going anywhere. I put it back in neutral and decided to let it idle a lil longer (about 5 minutes on top of 5-7 minutes from the original warmup) I tried different things but I can't figure it out. I havent seen a mech. yet because this guy that i thought was my buddy is secretly mr moneybags and he doesnt do half the things you ask him for. Anyways, I tried a few things on my own like cleaning the cold air intake, full tank of gas on 93oct. w/octane booster. That did nothing at all. Then I tried driving it and it would do the same thing. I rev the shit out of it and it finally starts moving but w/ 0 hp it seems like. When I parked it again, I kept it in first gear to see if it was def. a tranny problem and the shit didnt jump or turn off like it was still in neutral. And after that little drive it smelled horrible, unlike any smell I have taken in from a car. Any pointers? I need my baby back.

sounds like you need a new clutch. Thats a prime excuse to do a light weight flywheel.
