Title: Rear Deck Rattles Like Hell
GET Ukrainian - November 2, 2006 01:32 AM (GMT)
My rear deck rattles really bad since I got my subs in my trunk. It doesn't matter which way I aim the subs (up or back) it rattles the same. The only spot that actually gives off the rattle is where the deck meets the window, I've tried sticking like a towel thingy in between the little space where the rattle comes from, that seems to kill it, but after 2 or so days it rattles again so I need to stuff the towel again because it comes out I guess or something. Is there any way I can sound proof that part, like I don't know much about audio shit, but I'm assuming they make like... spray expandable foam or something (kina like Great Stuff at Home Depot) so I can spray it between the window and the deck?
I don't think I need the whole deck dynomatted because the rattle comes only from one point.

You should really do it right and sound deaden the whole rear deck because once you eliminate one rattle there is always another lol, but yeah thats one of the worst spots on our cars for rattle...

Yeah the sound wave come back and hit the rear deck. I had that problem on the 4th gen. I would def. do the whole undersiade of the deck. It should cure your problem.

ski and i (mostly him) deadedend my trunk lid, front doors and rear deck (60sqft rool of rammatt, recomended for anyone). helped alot altho i stillhave some rattlin going on. unless you go totally wild and crazy there is always goin to be some rattling goin on. case in point my driver side door switches. anoying as hell. too much mid base from the rainbows, thats what i get for buying good speakers and mdf rings (thanks again derick). on the upside however. any deadening makes your system sound 1xxx better.
