Need some input here. Is this 12 good for like metal and rock music. I ver rarely listen to any kinda rap. Just wondering?

If I were you Bill I would stick with a Sealed box for rock, just because it will be able to hit the notes better in there instead of a ported box...

Ahh I c I have 2 12s now. Just no amp and Not quite sure how to hook it to a stock head unit.

IIRC you have to tap into the rear speakers and use that to send the signal to your amp.

I agree with sunny on going sealed for rock it wont be as loud as a ported box but will def sound better and have more punchyness. As far as alpine being the best there are def better options out there if your not happy with the single 12 what makes you think 2 10's are going to be better? I would look into another brand if you are looking to get something else.... What are the reasons you dont like the 12 and what are you looking to do with the new set up? If you tell me then I can recomend some awsome subs....

BP - is bad IIRC because it basically echos the sound or something. I forgot exactly why but basically a BP is a ported box with some plexi glass on the side so you can see the subs, well that plexi glass is no where near as strong as wood is, which will create flexiing which is the last thing you want to happen in a box

Actually bandpass done correctly can sound very loud and good just like a ported box, but most of the time people dont look into building one for themselves and just get a POS prefab one and thats where you get the shitty sounding box.
