That makes really scary reading, but it's extraordinary that they haven't been seen since. You would have thought that someone would have found something since then. At least the story highlights the fact that you should always dive within your limits and with a reputable company, not irresponsible cowboys.

This would seem to be exactly it! I had always assumed (!) that a helicopter would be sent in all 'accident' circumstances regardless of the 'insurance' situation of the dive operation. That a helicopter was not sent when clearly the swell & currents made a surface drift over a long distance possible....is amazing to me. This is very sad reading indeed......
Oh my Gosh, that has freaked me right out. how sad. Has anyone read the post from the surviving diver? Scary!
