Title: Glidestar

Sarah - January 30, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
Can someone help me please! I have just found a Scubapro Glidestar for a very good price. Is this because they have been discontinued, or is it because they are not a very good BC?

Would you recommend them?

thanks in advance!

I can't say I know anything about the Glidestar, but the fact that it's Scubapro means it's probably OK. Lots of clubs/schools use Scubapro BCDs, so chances are they're reliable, durable, affordable etc, although I can't vouch for that from personal experience.

There is a review here: Review

and not sure what price you've got, but Tony Backhurst have them for £100 which seems like a steal (buy some and sell them on for a profit!): www.scuba.co.uk

No idea if they've been discontinued or not I'm afraid, but judging by the price on scuba.co.uk they may have been.

Hope this helps a little bit! :)

I have a Glidestar and absolutely love it. It is cut well for the female figure, but still offers ample pocket space / integrated weights and is padded at the back and neck for comfort. It seems to hold air in the right places, helping with buoyancy control.

At the time I bought mine, the 2 most popular ladies BCD's were the Glidestar and the Seaquest Diva. £100 absolute bargain!

Thanks for the advice ladies, I saw it on Tony Backhurst, BARGAIN!

I ordered one yesterday, I have used scubapro before so should be okay.

I just couldn't believe that they are going for such a low price, needed to check they weren't faulty or something!
