Title: Drains

Corrner - February 7, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
Ok I’m going to try to use sano's template so bear with me.

In-Game Name: Drains
Suggestion: To make a water drain
Reason For Suggestion: The annoying job of "pump {room} once"
What Causes Suggestion: Sometimes waters seeps into rooms you don’t want it to go
And Describe
The Suggestion: When water gets in a room the drain should slowly empty the room of water at a rate of say 1 square per 5 seconds the water would flow to the drain and out the bilge pump.

Sano: Just fixed the suggestion part. Made it look "unneat" having it all mushed into one line.

It would DEFINITELY help, and I could think of a way it could logicly work, nice idea. I approve.

Pumping water from the control room encourages teamwork and stops people from going off and doing their own thing. If water drained slowly on its own or you could open the vents/drains manually then you could most likely play by yourself. All a person in the control room has to do is click the appropriate link from the air regulator window and the room is pumped, there are supposed to be people in the control room to do these sorts of things.

True but the drain would take like 5 minutes to fully drain a room, its just for the water that seeps into a room.

Yes. I felt that the suggestions forum was sloppy, so I weeded through it one day and rejected and approved some stuff. A lot of the times the topics would just die so I would forget about it. I liked this idea because it wasn't meant for rooms to pump themselves, but simply to stop smaller rooms from completely flooding as fast, and possibly to deal with the stray water that flows between rooms. However, vents are only in a few places in a room, so sometimes it doesn't deal with the stray water problem.

Well the water should flow towards the drains because the floor is slightly slanted in the direction of the drain...
