K I have a fat playstation 2.. model 4... but it's breaking down... and there's the slim ones out... it's awesome since they are sooo small... but I heard they break down easily... is this true?

Very flemsiy and what-not but the one thing Sony fails to annouce is the slim ones have no cooling system in them, no fan. so it overheats alot thus making it break.

and there are some games, like monster rancher or something like that, that allows you to scan discs to get stuff, ou can't do this with the slim because of their disc tray type, i doesn't recognize when a new disc is put in, not really important, but just so you know just in case

I have a slimline PS2 ever since my fat one broke down and so far it hasn't broken down once.

Grim, do you have one of the slim ones? Because when I play mine for a stretch, after a while something that sounds like a fan whirrs up.
Anyway Tsunade, if I was you I wouldn't bother with the slimline PS2 IF you can wait for the PS3 which has now been delayed. I love my slimline PS2.

^i swear, the fat one breaks down easier than the slim one, at least for me, my fat one borke down so i got it repaired, and then it borke down again about 1 and a half years ago and it hasn't broken down since...and i got my fat one in 2003...i think it's because the slimline's parts are more compacted

^ i think it was done on purpose in the fat one. I heard stories that the fat PS2 was only meant to last for a set amount of years, I'm guessing cause they thought the PS3 would come out earlier.
Slimline works perfect for me, however, it gets a bit warm on the side of it next to where the cd loader is.
