Title: Rping Specific Rules
Description: --Everyone needs to read this.--

If this is your first time reading this, welcome to Ebon Tides!

Standard RPing etiquette should always be followed in Ebon Tides. For some explainations of this, scan the other rule sections. However, some methods in Ebon Tides aren't standard custom, and this page serves to reveal these variances.

Variance #1: The Hometown System
Scroll down the main page of Ebon Tides, and you'll see a category titled "Hometowns". Unarguable postulate of Ebon Tides #1: Everyone must belong to a hometown. It is imperative that you "register" with a city so you can be part of the driving force behind this board -- democracy. Every hometown has elected Senators, special town events, town-specific RPs (although they may not be exclusive to the townspeople), and, possibly, home town advantages (better starting armor, weapons, et cetera). As Ebon Tides grows, more concepts such as armies and military structure, trading systems, and more may be added.

Variance #2: Classes
Some RPs have classes, some don't. The point is, though, that Ebon Tides has a lot of classes. Lots. Be careful when you choose your class, because you may be moderated. If someone picks a druid class and starts trying to use the abilities and characteristics of, say, a blue mage, they will be warned. Be true to your class. As you grow in level, you may have the oppurtunity to double-class--being training in another art. For example, it's quite possible to become a hybrid Black Mage-Mentalist. Do not hybrid class at whim. RPers will be notified, for now, on an individual basis when the opportunity is given to hybrid-class. And, of course, you don't have to hybrid-class if you don't want to. In some cases, it may be better simply to continue toward mastery of your primary class.

Variance #3: Environment
Many places, especially buildings and natural landmarks, may have special magical properties. A prime example are the towers in the Trieme cities, each of which has a special ability or property about it. Environmental properties of this nature will be revealed by the staff. If someone would like to reveal one of these by his or her self, he or she must PM a Primoris Sator and obtain permission.

Happy RPing!

Yours,

Intellect & Wisdom,
Primoris Sator
