Title: Guard House

~Book~ - February 5, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
Book walks in and speaks to the Guardsmen.

I'd like a cell please. Plenty of room. Also could you fetch a scribe and erm some writting material please.

I'm practicing magics and it's better to be well defended.

Bodger - February 7, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
"Would sir be interested in a wake up call and a warmed muffin served upon the loins of a fair maiden elf? Perhaps this muffin to be served with golden butter made from the milk of a basilisk and spread with a magically enchanted butter poinyard?
I regret to inform you, Sir, that this is not a hotel, we do not rent rooms, despite what the local ladies of the night may have led you to believe. We certainly do not wish to offend those of a waggley finger disposition, but do have a house rule of not dabbling in the occult arts within walls normally built to withstand plain thugs and other ne'erdowells.
Luckily for you though, Sir, a purpose built facility is being constructed as we speak, for the furtherment of the wiggley fingered arts. I would suggest having a quiet word with Umbrial, the proprietor of the Order of Sortileges and she might be able to come to an arrangement with you."

~Book~ - February 7, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
No I wish a cell so that I can't wreck havoc on the town. But if something is being built by that water mage... I'll see.

~Book walks out of the Guard house and turs away from the Order and makes his way to the library. Once there he finds a cellar.....~

Bodger - February 7, 2006 06:09 PM (GMT)
Bodger makes a small note of Books remarks, and returns to his paperwork.

Sgt Tellos - March 3, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
Hello Bodger, how's it going?

Have you seen this elderly gentleman around? <describes the thief he was chasing>

He stole some valuables from the Warriors of Light HQ, then left them in the Inn.

Bodger - March 7, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
Bodger looks blearily up from his stack of paperwork, it is evidently the end of a long shift.
"This doesn't sound like one of our usual lot, though he could be in disguise.... I'll mention it in the briefing when the lads get back. Tsk, people are careless. If it happens again, we'll have to look more seriously at this. It sounds like it might be a spur of the moment theft, and an isolated one at that. Hopefully it'll be the only one."

Sgt Tellos - March 8, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
Cheers Bodger, I'll carry on having a look around, if you pop into the Inn after you finish your shift I'll get you an ale, you look like you need one!!

Morgrim - March 8, 2006 04:40 PM (GMT)
Morgrim gives the door to the guard house a gentle tap "BANG BANG BANG" anyone in ???

Bodger - March 8, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
"Yes, ....Sir... how can we be of assistance?"

Sgt Tellos - March 8, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Hello Morgrim, any luck finding that old bloke?

Morgrim - March 8, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Morgrim rubs the pummels on his two bone daggers , " no sorry tellos , he either dont wanna be found or hes scarpered allready il keep my eye out though "

Sgt Tellos - March 9, 2006 09:49 AM (GMT)
Oh well, these things happen, no doubt he'll turn up sooner or later.

Anyway, what can we do for you?

Morgrim - March 9, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
Morfrim rubs his chin , deep in thought , as if about to do something he had never dreamed of before " how ........ where......... what do i do to become a guard? there i said it ......"

Sgt Tellos - March 9, 2006 04:56 PM (GMT)
I think the best person to talk to is Captain Sir Brock Yates, I know it was he who recommended Riley and Greybeard.

Last time I saw him he was in the Inn, I was just heading that way, do you fancy an ale?

Morgrim - March 9, 2006 11:38 PM (GMT)
"yeah why not" morgim beckons tellos outside

Sgt Tellos - March 10, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
I'll see you later Bodger.

<Follows Morgrim out of the Inn>

Bodger - March 10, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
He looks mildly despondent, and turns back to his paperwork.

Sir Brock Yates - March 14, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
*Brock walks in and Screams* GET THE LEAD OUT! FORM UP the ARESSTING PARTY.

We Have a Mage to Arrest! Break out the Arms. This is the Last time I get made to look a fool in an Inn with half Prodigo Watching. I'm not laughing now am I..

*Brock Screams again* BODGER.... Get the Lads in line. If she resists arrest .... Break out the Battons I went our men armed to clear crowds to.

Ludicrious.. Absolutley Ludicrious. I don't care what she thinks was just a Joke. Doing that in an Inn is Breaking the Rules of Prodigio!!

Bodger - March 15, 2006 08:24 AM (GMT)
Bodger turns to him quietly and a little quizically.
"Sir, would you care to explain the situation a little more calmly, and remind me of which particular law she broke by throwing a large drink at you?"

Grift - March 15, 2006 10:09 AM (GMT)
Grift begins to come downstairs, with his nightgown still on. He has a pair of dog eared fluffy slippers on and semi brandishes a ceramic hot water bottle.
"What's all the racket Bodge? Are we having a rio..... oh, hello Sir. Please rememeber that some of us do night shift and there is a cot upstairs for such usage. Strictly speaking, I'm not on duty, but is there a problem?"
He scratches himself and yawns expansively, and attempts to focus on Brock.

Sir Brock Yates - March 15, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
*Brock raises an eyebrow*.. making fun of Prodigio guard is a night in the cells. Casting a spell on a guardsmen warrants an investigation.

Who actually said anything about a drink?.. I had a spell of a large quantity of water cast above me. It's ice cold. Now Damn it man get your act together. Today it's someone throwing water over you, tomorrow it's someone knifing you in a dispute your trying to sort out.

*Brock sighs* look if I have to explain to you why the Guard and ESPECIALLY A CAPTAIN IN IT needs to be respected I'd be here all day. This stops now and she spends atleast a night in the cells for questioning.

Bodger - March 15, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
Bodger blurts out automatically in rote fashion:
If you get caught doing either of these they you are guaranteed to receive the death penalty.
Worshiping a deity of any type
Aiding the undead forces
Destruction of lore

The following is against the law and usually carry the death penalty
Murder
Using a poison of any type
Arson
Rape
Hunting Lizard-Kin for skins.

The following crimes carry a sentence of hard labour.
Stealing
Mugging
Carrying or selling a poison
Slavery

Currently as I am the only on call officer in the building, I will contact several of our members in the field to at least have a polite word to determine the events surrounding your current state. So do you wish to accompany these members of the guard to the location of the miscreant or will you meet them in the inn?
*he starts to write out several preprepared messaging scrolls*

Sir Brock Yates - March 15, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
*Brock has an pained expression as he remembers the black thing with no soul essence in the room talking about the Liche lord (when he left). Knowing if he did that then he has just signed the Death warrent of everyone in the inn.*

Damn it man call it a breach of the Peace (OOC spell casting on another is against the rules. Seriously if this happened at an event there would have been a fight, Brock more than likely would have died) arrest her in the morning of the next day. I'm going to go change out of the cold clothes. For al I know she could be drunk. Have the Inn watched from the outside and make sure it doesn't flood.

Next time I won't hold myself back because she is a lady. Far far to many Powerful magic users putting the Guard down.; We've already gone through one STUPID mishap I don't want another caused.

I'll be making a recomendation about a new Law. The Guard has to be protected more than this. Far to many take advantage of our good nature and the simple requirement of us just wanting to protect our homes.

Damn it man I'm annoyed. A great many people are lucky I'm a man of honour and not petty.

As you were. My apologies Mr Grim.

Bodger - March 15, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
As you wish Sir.
Breach of the peace... hmm, I like the sound of that, I'll have to put it forward as another possible law.
I can have several members of the guard form an arresting party within a few minutes.
If you are not wishing to arrest her right now I can have the men posted outside the inn, to ensure she doesn't escape and arrest her on your command.
Just out of interest Sir, who else has been putting the guard down?

Grift - March 15, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
He yawns again, and salutes to the officer, then makes his way back up the stairs to his rapidly cooling cot.

Filmy Ref - March 15, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Members of the guard begin to gather outside the Guard hut.

Sir Brock Yates - March 17, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
*Brock looks at Bodger funny* Have you been drinking on duty again private?? Another Law? One was lead to believe that Breaching the peace is against the law of Prodigio.

As for trying to be a smart arse and tell me what I already know. You'll be sure I'll note that in my dispatches to your Captain.

As for what is and isn't the Law. Any impeadment or detating of a Guardsman can be considered aiding the Undead as the Guard is there simply to protect against the undead. Any single person acting out a prank on the Guard can Jeopardise the safety of Prodigio. It only takes one man to be taken out of action for that to happen.

Mind you private if you don't know that I'll have to have a word with your officers to make sure they DRILL that into you.

Bodger - March 18, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
"Yes Sir. Thank you Sir."

Sir Brock Yates - March 18, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
Right... *Brock has been thinking for a while* Bodger I want you to see if her tax on her leasings is up to date. I want her investigated. Anything out of the ordinary and I want it jumped on.

The honour of the guard is at stake. Would you like to be the butt of EVERY person's joke in Prodigio and beyond?

Make her life miserable and make sure she knows not to make fun of the Guard. If she's got a problem with me then I suggest she goes through the correct channels. Isn't that right Bodger??

Her library.. hmm is it one that has been sactioned by the city? Can she prove it? We have a lot of valuable works in libraries that can be replaced. I'm guesssing they would have to be coppied and put in every library. Otherwise it's a little silly to have it in one place. Fires and burglaries happen as well as Undead finding out about that and rushing in. I've been there...

So have the copies been made and given to other libraries? We have to show these wretches, not only do we have the muscle but we have the brains to..

Bodger - March 19, 2006 11:22 AM (GMT)
"Very well Sir."
He makes out several messages which disappear immediately.
"Do you wish to have some of the men following her?"

Sir Brock Yates - March 19, 2006 02:13 PM (GMT)
No. I've got a man on that right now.

Just make sure as soon as she leaves the inn she's arrested for questioning in a possible Aiding the undead by incapacitating a Guardman Captian. Let her know Practical jokes on the Guard are not a good thing to do. Also advise her calmly if she had a Problem with my behaviour then perhaps talking to me or making a complaint to the ranking officer would have don better than to do what she did.

Bodger - March 20, 2006 12:27 PM (GMT)
"Yes, Sir."
He pops outside and informs a few of the guard members of the orders, who then slope off toward the inn.

Sir Brock Yates - March 24, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
Bodger.. a runner to hand this to Telos! (OOC PM sent to Pete).

I need some maps to plan the next sortie into Enemy territory. We need to harass and keep the undead from our Door... I have much to plan.....

Bodger - March 25, 2006 11:39 AM (GMT)
"Very well Sir."

Omnipotent Overlord - March 25, 2006 12:40 PM (GMT)
Bodger summons a runner who takes the note and quicky heads off in the direction of the inn.

Omnipotent Overlord - March 25, 2006 11:39 PM (GMT)
The runner returns to the guard hut with a different note in his hand, he salutes Brock and hands the note to Bodger.

After taking a quick look at it, Bodger hands the note to Brock

"its addressed to you sir"

(Pm incoming)

Sir Brock Yates - March 26, 2006 04:34 PM (GMT)
Thank you Bodger... *Brock reads the note and smiles*.. Damn shame that my plans will be bolstered. I was planning on a sortee into enemy held lands. It's time we started hitting back and making the Undead react to us rather than the otehr way around. What say you Bodger??

*Brock walks to the messenger and gives him a few Gems* Offf you go lad take the rest of this duty off and buy Mr Tellos a ale.

Dodgy Elf - March 28, 2006 12:25 PM (GMT)
Elsquare enters the building and asks the man on the front desk

"Is there a Mr Block or something like that around here? I was told by Trelaine that he might be able to give me some work."

"Apparently he may need some scouts!"

Bodger - March 28, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
Bodger raises an eyebrow in amusement.
"Yes, "Sir Brock Yates is here. Scouts eh? Company C is looking out for talent like that. Yup, they seem to have an interesting career being sent all over the place. Not just staying around Prodigio like us in Company R, keeping the undead off the wall, and demarcating civilisation from the wilds."
His chest puffs out proudly.

Dodgy Elf - March 28, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
"Ah it's Brock is it!"

"Trelaine did mention Company C i think. Is Mr Yates around for a chat?

"What is the pay like in this Company C?"
