Title: The door to the tavern is open

Omnipotent Overlord - July 16, 2007 05:12 AM (GMT)
It is a hot summers day, the door to the tavern is open to allow a draft in to the other wise hot building.

Trelaine - July 16, 2007 08:58 AM (GMT)
Trelaine enters the Tavern to see whos about....He takes special care to make sure the door is closed firmly behind him.

~Book~ - July 16, 2007 10:27 AM (GMT)
Book opens the door and walks in... shutting the door firmly behind him.

"It's a bit hot in here. We need a breeze" Book concentrates for a few moments and a light breeze blows through.

"Trelaine......that new ride through transportation circle. Bit of a doozy."

Trelaine - July 16, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
'Teleportation magics, now that was impressive....but I can't help feeling we may not be high on the list of people they will be willing to share such knowledge with.'

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 11:41 AM (GMT)
Sir Niall enters the Inn, catching the end of the conversation. He walks to the bar and speaks to the barman,

"A tankard of mead and drinks for my colleagues here please."

Accepting the drink he turns and joins Book and Trelaine. He looks concerned when he expresses his opinion,

"An ancient weapon against the T'cra has been rediscovered and is now in the hands of one worthy of such honour and responsibility. However, I doubt whether it was worth the price that the Crahn had to pay. We found a race long thought extinct and seemed to do our damndest to ensure it was the case when we entered their enclave.
I wonder whether I should have remained in Golaskanev with the Trolls, Angels, Elementals, Ananasi and Spirit Elves. I must admit that for the few days I have been away from the city I have missed it terribly. You should see the Chapter House and the holy symbols and artwork that is present within. It is truly inspiring to view, I only wish I could hope to achieve what the great Knights depicted have."

Morgrim - July 16, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
Morgrim walks into inn , walks to the bar and orders a jug of ale and some bread " how goes it fellows? "

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 12:04 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall smiles at Morgrim,

"Sound of body, but my mind and soul are troubled by recent events."

Morgrim - July 16, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
Morgrim gives a solem nod , " much bloodshed was caused , but we were not to know that we could spread such carnage by just visiting , all i hope is that the people did not die in vain for the weapon ," Morgrim pauses , " i learnt alot from you these last few days good knight , maybe wealth should be shared and not hoarded , i will not be around for a while as i hope to find my child , "

Sgt Tellos - July 16, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
<Tellos approaches the bar and orders an ale, then goes to sit with the others>

Well that was a complete rooster-up wasn't it!!

Let's hope that weapon was worth the cost!

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall smiles,

"You have my thanks Morgrim, both for your kind words and the help you have given. I hope, Tellos, that in time this weapon against the T'cra will help redress the balance."

Sir Caelwin - July 16, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
A knight in clean and pristine travel clothes and armour enters the tavern, salutes to those within, seeing the everone seemed to have a drink orders a tankard of ale for himself.
"Well that's the chapter house in Galashnev sorted out, Lady Raquel is taying on to keep it ticking over." Caelwin indicates to Sir Niall. "Glad you did the ground work for my job was just sitting down and organising the paper work, even had some time for relaxing and doing some sight seeing. How did you guys get on, nothing too dangerous I hope, you all appear to be none too worse for ware." Caelwin sits down in a corner facing the door.

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall looks at his fellow knight then laughs,

"Oh, nothing too dangerous the usual legions of undead and T'cra combined with gargantuan insects that have a penchant for metal. There was also the re-discovery of an ancient race thought extinct; the Crahn. Although with our appearance they appear to be well on the way back towards that state. I believe their Chieftan was the first to die after meeting our group, although the Shaman was perhaps the most distinct in his demise. Morgrim, are you still finding fragments of the Shaman?"

Sir Niall sips from his tankard then continues,

"However, the end result is that we have managed to reclaim a mighty weapon forged to fight the T'cra. I witnessed it being wielded on the field of battle and it rained down destruction on their kind."

He sighs and shakes his head,
"
I feel like my time may be best served by shortly returning to Golaskanev for I need to contemplate recent events. I found simplicity in destroying countless undead and spending my time in what constitutes diplomacy in the city. Perhaps, if you pick up a pen, when I leave this time you could communicate to me any changes that happen in the protected zone. I must confess I was suddenly bombarded with talk of new laws, changes on the elemental planes and more political machinations involving Lord Malnear. As I returned to the city with Vola and Smidger the first thing I encountered was Book ensconced in the stocks."

Isobel - July 16, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
Isobel comes in and leaves the door open to let in some fresh air then comes to sit down with everyone else and signals for an ale and food from the barman.
Hi guys is everything ok you all look very solemn ?
do any of you know of a specialist weapon maker i could call on I need to get my mace remade and I have a few additions I want to add and I,m not sure the local blacksmith is really up to it I will ask him but I thought I would ask around as well as I really want to get this thing well made.

~Book~ - July 16, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
*Book is sat thinking.. his usual loudness not there*.. At last it's not my fault. Although I think the deaths were awful, it has opened an oportunity.

We have found how to make a transport circle.. we have a mighty weapon against the T'Cra. But most importantly we have found a safe place. Somewhere where our enemies can not get to. Although small it's a haven for our knowledge.

What troubles me the most. We found a human near there. He was sleeping and had a mighty weapon. While sleeping there was an apparition. When it was awoke, it went. Dark God magics were everywhere it seemed. This human looking person had memory failure... but then had enough memory to use a power and blink away.

That magic was not Air. who was he and what have we done. *Book buys a beverage for Trelaine and Morgrim and himself*

~Book~ - July 16, 2007 02:16 PM (GMT)
*Book drinks his drink fast*.. DAMN IT! I forgot that the Death Nekrid might be here trying to search for me..

*Book shakes his head*.. Morgrim We cold have done with the Shaman the blending of magics was very very useful. I think perhaps you would make use of an Air spell... now if I could only write it down on a scroll.. and you could read it. I'd furnish you with it to help you find what your looking for. Maybe we'll learn soon.

Morgrim - July 16, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
Morgrim sighs , picking a ear from his scabard " unfortunately the peices of the shaman keep cropping up , Morgrim thanks book for the ale " thankyou book for the kind acts you showed me these last few days , maybe your just misunderstood? , i must leave now as there is much i must do if my child is to be found ." Morgrim leaves the inn

Ferret - July 16, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
<Ferret saunters in, nods to his friends, orders a beer and remains standing at the bar>

Aah, I'm still a tad uncomfortable sitting down for some reason....but its good to be back in this dirty old town, where at least we don't get our kit eaten!

cat - July 16, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
The Cat enters the inn looking very tired and sore

"I'm not used to that much fighting, I need a lie down and a drink! ''

goes to bar to get a drink and then finds a qiuet place to have a long cat nap

~Book~ - July 16, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)
*Book chuckles at Ferret*.. I'm shocked people kicked you that hard. you never annoyed me or put me under duress, hence why I did not kick except to be polite. I hope I did not hurt.

Sgt Tellos - July 16, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Hi Isobel, the best weaponsmith I know has just left, Morgrim is an excellent weaponsmith as well as an armourer.

Book, were you there when there was talk of the 4 remaining Gods, Dergo and Sashi-O-Lay we know about and there were 2 others, one was locked away in a safe place where they could never escape from and shouldn't be let out no matter what because they were the worst out of all of the Evil Gods!!

~Book~ - July 16, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
No I wasn't.. So we could have let it out then...

Welll atleast Dergo would have a proper fight on it's hands...

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall smiles at Morgrim as he leaves,

"Good luck with finding your child. If you need my help do not hesistate to contact me. If I'm not at the Prodigio chapter house I will have returned to Golaskanev."

He turns and speaks to Ferret,

"Being jester to the Fey Queen was one thing but the retribution laid on you by our group was quite extreme. I hope I did not overly harm you when I went through the motions of kicking you. The etiquette of the Fey Court would accept nothing other than complete obedience. If you are still injured can I offer to heal you?"

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 16, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall looks troubled as he addresses Tellos and Book,

"Yes Tellos, that talk of another dark god is quite disturbing. I fear that we have enough problems to contend with where the god, whose name I will not mention, is concerned. Meddling in the affairs of gods is to ensure that you will shortly become little more than a foot note in history, if you are even remembered."

infyrana - July 16, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
Sir Val approaches and steps through the open door way. He stands there with his hands behind his back, dressed simply in a black robe with his usual marking white cross, and a rope belt on which is attached his flanged mace.

Staring back out of the door with his eyes shut and his chin up he quietly quizzes himself about something, then turns back around. Shutting the Inn door and smiling at the cool breeze from inside, his voice a subtle but strong request...

"Barman, please may I have a flagon of your finest water."

He places a gem on the bar, casually adjusts his belt, then reaches for the fresh water placed in front.

"Thank you kind sir."

Looking around he nods to the familiar faces, then returns his gaze towards Sir Niall.

"Well met Sir Niall, many thanks for your kind words with the guards back at the Chapter House, I was able to clean up and join you in no time at all. I have already attended the Healers Guild and spotted the good work that Ferret has learned over our most recent adventures. Is there news of Sir Caelwin?"

He looks about once again and notices him sitting in a corner hidden from initial view.

"Ah, I see he has returned, if you'll excuse me good Sir."

He smiles and takes a bow, then approaches Sir Caelwin.

Ferret - July 16, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
<ferret winces, but smiles>
Book, Sir Niall - I fully appreciate that the fey expected nothing less than obedience, and a kicking from my friends was the least of my worries, your efforts not to cause too much bruising... unlike others... was appreciated.

Theres not much you can do for the pain, though there are others who may be taken up on any offer to rub it better :-)
<ferret looks around and realises the lack of women in the Inn (Cat excepted!)>

Serenity - July 17, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
serenity walks into the inn and heads over to the bar and orders a glass of water.

<she looks around the room at her friends and smiles softly as she sips her drink>

Meiko - July 17, 2007 10:05 AM (GMT)
Meiko looks up with interest at all of the visitors to the inn. She had been previously sitting in one corner quietly sipping her drink. She stands and inclines her head in greeting to those that she knows.
She spots Sir Caelwin and Sir Val and walks towards them.

" Greetings Sir Caelwin, Sir Val. I wished to thank you for sharing your hospitality of your chapter house with me. It has been greatly appreciated. " She directs her comments at Sir Caelwin.
" Sir Val, you look to have just returned, tell me did you have an interesting adventure?"

infyrana - July 17, 2007 10:46 AM (GMT)
"Well met there Meiko." he bows towards her and opens his mouth with a sigh as if to let all the story out at once, but catches himeself and smiles instead "Shall we sit first, for it feels more a tale of mishaps, mistakes and majestic malignance."

He screws his face up with his own curiosity, unsure even if his words were well placed.

"Needless to say it was an eye opener for myself, seeing sights I never dreamt I would see, new races and things that made my eyes pop. Sadly many fell with our efforts in finding a way to help defeat the T'cra. But all is not lost, we have learnt, we have become wiser with our knowledge and experience, and I have no doubt that when we head out together once more we shall do so with the greater good in sight."

Taking a sip and looking back up to both Meiko and Sir Caelwin.

"Where are my manners... How are you both ?"

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 17, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
Sir Niall acknowledges Sir Val and Serenity then listens to Ferret's reply. He remains in the company of Book and Tellos and looks to be lost in inner contemplation.

Barkeep - July 17, 2007 12:13 PM (GMT)
Gordon winces at the blatant use of alliteration, and looks mildly confused at the request for water. He shrugs, and brings out a skin of water from behind the bar.
He takes the money proffered.

Isobel - July 17, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
ferret it was about time something deflated your ego perhaps the experience at the fay court will do you good.however I will offer you a drink to help sooth your sore behind, what can I get you?

Sir Caelwin - July 17, 2007 05:58 PM (GMT)
Sir Caelwin turns to Meiko.
"The hospitality of the chapter houses of the code are yours for as long as you need them, the same goes for you Sir Val. All this talk of dark gods and Fey sounds intruiging, it would appear that I have missed much but humility shows me that my pressence was needed elsewhere. Although this is not the first time the mention of another dark and terrible god has been mentioned."

~Book~ - July 17, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
*Book catches the Barman wincing at his words*.. Poppycock..

*book looks back to the conversation with Sir Nial*.. it looks as though you are as deeply affected by the passing of so many innocents as I am. Truly a shame, but much to learn form them, even a new court of folk... and who would have thought that I and Sir Val would be able to write a sonnet...

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 17, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall smiles in rememberance of the sonnet,

"Yes...it was quite memorable and very well written. Unfortunately I still cringe at the events that the remainder of our group had to endure prior to it's completion."

He sighs,

"The Crahn who died while we were there sit heavily on my mind. I cannot help but feel that we failed them, despite the best of intentions. I wonder if there is anything we can do to at least try to make amends?"

~Book~ - July 17, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
I intend to give them their lost information from the outside... maybe the Trolls would like that to?

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 17, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall nods,

"Yes, I imagine that the trolls in the enclave would benefit from the information. Vola and Smidger accompanied me from Golaskanev with the purpose of locating this lost troll community. Although I cannot speak on behalf of Golaskanev I would surmise that the King's regent will want to establish links between their communities."

~Book~ - July 17, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
I suspect we will have to keep it quiet... the T'ockra will be amasing a force to move against us... and there will be a scramble to get there.

Hmmm... we carry to many diseases and viruses for them.. let alone our magics and theres...

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 17, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall frowns,

"You are right, we cannot risk travelling directly to the enclave via the circle. Is there any magical manner by which you can pass on the information?"

Trelaine - July 17, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
If we have released a dark god which I hope we have not I do not believe it is as great a threat as we may first imagine. We know the power of the gods relys on their followers and while a few dark cults may still exist I doubt there is enough power left for it to even be an annoyance. In fact it may even be a distraction for Dergo as he does so love to kill other gods.

Sir Niall ap Trahern - July 17, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
Sir Niall regards Trelaine,

"I do not know whether we released another god, but I do wonder about the true nature of the temptress we found sealed in the tomb with the human warrior bearing the sword of all elements."

He sips from his tankard as he mulls over the problem.
