Right, part of my A2 project work to be handed in at the end of the easter holiday requires me to do "analysis of existing media texts" and as im making a music video, i need to do analysis on existing music videos.

My problem is, is that for some bastardised reason - it doesnt matter HOW i try to take a screenshot of the music videos im trying to analyise, or from where (Youtube, google video, winamp. windows media player, Itunes, Even CCCP) i always seem to end up with a blank screen, and never the part of the music video i actually want, and im a little stumped.

Is there anyway around this black security screen so i can actually take screenshots of my music videos ive collected, so i can actually finish this module? I dont really care waht i have to download/niggle with - just so long as it works.

Many thanks, Craig.

Sounds like you need some specific software to use to get it to work. Best thing would be a video editor of som kind or pause it in the right place, print screen and then cut and paste using an art package such as Picassa 2 from Google into your final draft bud.

Play music Video, click PAUSE. Press PRINT SCREEN. then paste it into Paint and then cut to fit.

This is top secret please don'[t tell anyone this as .. Never mind.. LOL

If it was that simple, would i really be asking for help? <_<

Most video players have security built into the codec used to play the file -which means a copy/paste will simply copy and paste a blank screen, what im after is a codec to play my files that WONT do that, or another form of player that will allow me to do so, my only problem is - im not sure where to look/who to ask. :(

Try VLC and install K-lite codec pack both free to download.
