Title: After a long abscence Druidblog returns....

Dear Diary.....
What with one thing after another and the world being saved and then put in peril once more by something even more nasty than the undead I appear to of failed to make any significant observations on the world as I go, with recent events making things so much more different that they should be prehaps now is time for a little recap on the last few months....

Where to start, well prehaps the beginning...erm actually i think i covered that before so prehaps the early-middlely bit that was after the beginning but before the bit that i've not written about...Well most importantly the weather was nice for it...it of course being the discovery of the celestials, recovery ofthe city of galas...erm...galacon...erm...the troll city from undead hands, pallying up with a pitlord (still not convinced it's wise to go hand in hand with something whos hand wraps 4 times round your head) and of course the all important release of the Therians from their resting place (don't tell but I kinda of lost em, think the ritual interferance thingy went foobar but we'll keep that quiet for now).

The most important thing of course to note is the weather which as previously mentioned was fine...with moderate south westerly winds for the majority....thus ensuring relatively warm adventuring for myself. (after the first few thousand years you feel it on the bones far too much) and the slight drizzle of rain kept me moist enough to allow woody and family ample soft wood to set up home. Woody is of course my new friend a woodlouse who has set up home in my left leg...he moved in some months ago and seems to be doing quite well although i have had to inform him of some restricted areas pleasant though the tickling sensation was.

Enough about me, the companions I have been traveling with on and off for the last few years have branched out it seems. Soots decided to grow horns for some reason, probebly to distract attention from the fact he's gaining a few inches around the waistline, these humans do seem strangely preoccupied about their weight and do extraordinary lengths to distract others from the fact it is increasing. Most odd when you consider how size is a status point for many races such as ogres and trolls...hmmm maybe thats why elsquare was mistaken for a troll.

But yes of the others I hear uthans decided to be a king, decide is probebly the best way to describe the troll system....they operate a thwack bonk system of government as far as i'm aware which I must say I admire....when in the great scheme of things the druids went from survival of the fittest system to proportional representative voting i dont know but may explain a lot as to why I was accused of being a pacifist in days past.

oh well...well i'm sure i'll add more when i have time....for today thats me done with the writing stuff....I realy need to get Nutkin III trained at scribing...although Nutkins I and II are most helpful when it comes to journals....Nice warm carpet Carpet slippers are making this a far more pleasant experience than the old barefeet in mud of old. And most of all it's keeping my old friends close.

Dear Diary...
The subject of magic and the experimental nature of all thingies of a strange and wibbly nature has always been one i have had some interest in. Not the kind of magic research that they espouse to that that big jesters hat of a guild that umbrella built in the town I am of course on about the experiemental magic that is so cursed and hated by those who think they have an idea how it all works.

I work on the idea of progress, all things to progress must develop something new how to do this...well some say lets read loads of old books, erm I said NEW! you want to find something new in magic stick some random magic words together wiggle yer arms in a new way and see what happens. Progress is not made by going back to what we had before....what we had before isn't done anymore for a good reason it was probebly pants or offended something so big and narly to repeat it would probebly result in the loss of something important such as your arm or head. Yes there are risks, but surely that is the nature of the business....You cannot master the control of say the raw element of fire without a small possibility you may burn down your assistant.

Now soul magic...thats big business these days and much more raw as to what you can do with it....for one thing theres no guild threatening to suspend your membership if you decide to say randomly blow something up while testing what you can do with it. I will of course mention that this did not happen to any shamans in my vicinity who was in fact blown up by the elementalists who so frown on anything that might do just that. But yes there is definately something a lot more natural for want of a better word when trying to make something new happen than to just try it and see.

Bit like eating mushrooms I guess...whats the worst that can happen....
