After the T’cra invasion that destroyed the Argus Isle the Darklings moved the essences of the four shapers to the isle of the Spirit Elves. The Argus would be the only ones who knew how to get to and from that island for the Leviathans would make the waters around it unpassable by ship. The Angels would make sure the sky was also denied to any who attempted to reach the Island. The Demons and the Gargoyles would assist in the defence of the Isle but their primary duties were to stop all from getting close to the Isle whatsoever.

After some time it was deemed that a way was needed for the Spirit Elves to get too and from the outside world so the Argus and the Darklings got together and the portals were created. However the Darklings were not happy to leave the access to the portals undefended and so constructed vast fortifications around the access to it. Given the Argus and the Spirit Elves already had duties the Darklings decided that another force would need to be created to guard the Access and to live in this massive city of fortifications they had created.

As a symbol of unity between the Argus and the Spirit Elves all of them contributed to the race that would become the defenders. Through this the Trolls were born as a race and were destined to be forever the defenders of the mighty city now known as Golashkanev.

How do I know this? Well I was there when the angels came to us and asked us to shelter their young. They knew that if anywhere could weather whatever storm was brewing it would be Golashkanev. They also knew the trolls were in part their own so they felt confident in trusting their young to the Trolls.
