Troll Wedding ceremony

“First let me welcome our guests from the protected zone. You honour us with your presence. May this be the first of many times we greet each other as friends”

“Today is an auspicious day. For the first time in more than two centuries we are here to celebrate the wedding of two individuals. For centuries troll societies have been forced to work on the basis of what is good for society and not on what the individual desires.”

“Then I decree the wedding may continue for the betrothed have been shown to be honourable souls. We allow this bonding to take place but always remember that you bond not only to one another but to all Trolls. You must continually strive to better our society as well as each other.”

“These five cords represent the ideals that all trolls live by, they are at the heart of our society and must be honoured. “

Assistant hands the white troll the green cord which the white troll hold up as he speaks.
“This green cord represents Vitality, of long lives free of illness and rich in fertility.”
“Elsquare, will you watch over her in times of illness and old age?”

“This blue cord represents strength, the strength to fight for your bond, your people and your beliefs.”
“Elsquare, do you have the strength to fight for those things?”
“Gerkha, do you have the strength to fight for these things?”
“May you always have the strength to fight for what matters in life.

This red cord represents protection, the ability to protect one another from harm.”
“Elsquare, will you strive to protect her from all harm?”
“Gerkha, will you strive to protect him from all harm?”
“May you always have the ability to protect one another from any harm that may befall you.”

“This black cord represents three duties, the first to each other, the second to your society and the third to your king.”
“Elsquare, do you understand the nature of the duty laid before you and your responsibility to each other?”
“Gerkha, do you understand the nature of the duty laid before you and your responsibility to each other?”
“May you never fail in your duty.”
Black cord is placed over their hands then all five are tied while white troll speaks the last words of the ceremony.

“The ties of this bonding are complete; know that you are bonded in the eyes of all trolls. Go now and honour what has been said here today. “
