Title: The Inn
Omnipotent Overlord - April 18, 2006 07:23 AM (GMT)
The inn is quiet, most of its normal patrons seem to be elsewhere, there is the sound of the barman being chastised by the cook coming from somewhere in the back.
Bigred - April 18, 2006 08:32 AM (GMT)
With a slightly miffed look about him the enormous bigred red troll stoops through the inn doors dragging a pile of knackered plate armour behind him, walks upto the barman with a little red gem in his other large fist and says "Chowum beerman, DRINK"
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 09:58 AM (GMT)
a somewhat bloodspattered and bandaged trelaine staggers into the inn...despite the relative success of the mission he still looks very down....'Barman...wine if you have it...if not i'll take anything' Moving to remove his rather devastated armour he winces with some pain before finally managing to drop it to the side of one of the tables and then eases himself onto the seat carefully.
Morgrim - April 18, 2006 10:12 AM (GMT)
Morgrim pushes the door to the inn open shuffling , his leg covered in bandages .
Morgrim still has a glint of happiness in his eye as he slides his battered armour off too the chair and puts a small glowing creature on the table.
"ale please , and tell the blacksmith im going to need to borrow his anvil for a few days "
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 10:18 AM (GMT)
Trelaine looks up to see morgrim...'Thanks for the help...I couldn't of done that without your boys'
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 10:21 AM (GMT)
Almost collapsing through the door, Kiran hobbles in to the inn, using her Mace to help her move an otherwise immobile right leg. Cursing at the amount of bandages covering her stout body, the Dwarf mutters something about actually looking like one of the Undead at this moment.
Seeing Morgrim and Uften, she smiles slightly, grimacing as even that little movement seemed to send pain through her.
"Aye lads, how's ya feelin? I know I could do wit' a drink or five."
Making her way to the table with two nobodies sitting at it, she called to the barman, "Ale please matey, and keep 'em coming."
Bigred - April 18, 2006 10:56 AM (GMT)
Looking up from his pint Uthden see's Morgrim and kiran enter the inn. And says " chowum morgrim, chowum kiran chinky chinky chink mcplate chum chuggy knackered urm DRINK" :(
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 11:08 AM (GMT)
"Kiran's knackered too Uthden, not just your armour! What with Brock going psycho on me then that damn tree knocking seven bell's o' shite outta me, I don't think I'll be going anywhere for a while."
Amadeus - April 18, 2006 11:46 AM (GMT)
A tall figure walks into the inn and removes his hood, He is obviously a dark elf and he looks quite young. He walks to the bar.
"Barman a drink if you will, And one for yourself."
He takes a large Glug of drink and turns round and notices you. He walk over.
"What happened to you lot?"
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 11:48 AM (GMT)
"We had some fun!" Kiran says while grinning, wincing in pain as she bursts into laughter for no apparent reason.
Amadeus - April 18, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
"Looks like it. I knew i should have been here last week, But then again with the pain you guys are in then maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to stop off at the villages in the way."
He sits down and finishes his drink.
"Anyone want another drink?"
Bigred - April 18, 2006 01:47 PM (GMT)
ouch ouch ouch kiran tree ouch drink yum. silwee bwock chum chuggy chum chug cheroo drink
Bigred - April 18, 2006 02:00 PM (GMT)
Ooooh Erow blook elfey drink for uthdan cha cha ;)
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
Kiran laughs at Uthden, her smile slowly reaching to her eyes, "Yep, Kiran really got battered huh. As for Brock, well it was just a shock I think for everyone.."
Downing her ale and burping rather loudly, Kiran looked around the inn, as though looking for someone.
"Any of you's seen Katz around? Could do with a different kind of ruck now."
Soot - April 18, 2006 03:07 PM (GMT)
A figure in dark robes and hood enters the Inn two bright lights shine where the eyes would be.
Soot removes his hood and looks around the room. His eyes shine slightly brighter. He looks tired but happy though a slight sadness crosses his face on hearing Brocks name.
He Nods to Trelaine
He spots the Nobodies and heads over to the bar to order a drink. He make sure not to worry Uthden. He purchases a bottle of brandy and makes his way to their table.
"Hello you lot. " He takes a swig from the bottle and places it in the middle of the table.
"Sorry about the shirt Morgrim." (guiltily)
MammaDola - April 18, 2006 03:12 PM (GMT)
Mamma Dola comes down the stairs.
"I thought I recognised the ruckus down here. You all look like you've been dragged through a bush backwards. What happened?"
She sits at the bar facing the common room, her usual is placed by her elbow.
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
"Hey Soot, how you feeling? Thanks for the flames earlier, definitely helpled out a hell of a lot"
Watching the Orc come down the stairs, the Dwarf nods a hello and smiles, somewhat tiredly.
Laughing loudly at MammaDola's words,Kiran held her sides as she did so, "Funny you should say that, but it was a tree not a bush!"
Bigred - April 18, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
uthden looks at the new comers to the inn and his gaze falls warily on the countanance of the flamey one as he places a bottle in the middle of the table hmmm he thinks to himself as he reaches over and quickley snatches a swift glug out of the firemages bottle maybe he's not so bad after all or is he??????
Ro'ber - April 18, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
Slipping down the stairs, Ro'ber looks at the battered group in the taproom, whistling at the damage to them he pushes his blue feathered Tri-corn back with the pommel of the foil he holds scabbarded in his left hand.
He crosses to the bar and gets himself a tankard of beer, grabbing a seat near the group he settles in for the time being and idly eavesdrops, interested in what the impressive bunch have been upto.
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 07:28 PM (GMT)
<Tellos enters the inn, looks around and sees the battered state of the patrons>
See, that's what you get for not waking me up!!
How did it go? Did you sort out the magic problem and did Brock find out who was killing his men?
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
Looking down again when brocks name is mentioned.....'Sir Brock was one of several who did not survive my venture to the tree'
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 09:14 PM (GMT)
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 09:29 PM (GMT)
I do not know the exact details for I was in battle at the time with several of the undead...I am told that he turned on his allies and had to be cut down by those that stood with him... I cannot confirm why but I suspect he had been controlled by other forces to make him do such an act...I myself barely 48 hours before found myself striking out at my best friends fortunately I was subdued before they were forced to kill me.
I was the one who asked him to join this venture to the tree, if the guard require someone to stand trial for his death the resoncibility is mine alone...This was not a guard mission and he would not of been there if it had not been for my desire to do this.
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
Brock had his own reasons for going along with you to the city, it had something to do with the old king and the Shield of Lars. What do you mean attacked his allies? What have you lot been up to!!
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
From what I was told a rage took him and he strook out against kiran while she fought a powerful undead and while the nobodies tried to subdue him he was slain.
And yes he had his reasons for going to the troll city but he could of turned back there, he had his infomation regarding the king before he left there...he had no reason to continue with us to the place of the tree other than a willingness to help save the tree. I am responsible for his death and that of the other brave soul who fell during this....no others should suffer for my faults.
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 09:46 PM (GMT)
Brock was big enough and ugly enough to make his own desicions, if he didn't want to go somewhere or do something, then he wouldn't. It's as simple as that. When he made his mind up about something, no matter how stupid it was, he followed it through to the end.
Trelaine - April 18, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
He did his job to the best of his skills, I have no love for the guard or the way they are dealing with this war against the dead but he at least was one who went out and looked for the enemy rather than waiting like the majority for them to come crashing at the walls of this town.
Pompous arse yes, but at least he went out there and did something....
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
So how do you suggest the Guard deal with the undead? An all out assault so they can get wiped out and further strengthen their ranks?
Has anybody informed the Guard of what you saw and what you did?
Has anybody ever made any form of report to the guard of what has been seen on any of these forays beyond the protected zone?
Has anybody even reported the death of a Guard Captain to the relevant authorities?
WELL HAVE YOU!!!
Trevellian Moss - April 18, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
*Walking in at the end of Tellos' spiel, looking battered*
"The death of Captain Yates has been reported, Tellos..."
kiran deathbane - April 18, 2006 11:06 PM (GMT)
"Yo Tellos, calm down! We've only just got back from a fecking knackering fight and we're just trying to relax before we go in to any details with the guard about Brock."
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
So having a beer is more important than reporting the death of a Guard Officer. Having a beer is more important than imparting what could be vital tactical information to those people charged with defending the realm!!
<To Trevellian>
Who has reported it?
Trevellian Moss - April 18, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
Thank you, I take it you reported to our mutual friend!!
Trevellian Moss - April 18, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
*nods*
*sits down on a chair and looks thoughtful*
Sgt Tellos - April 18, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
< To the barman>
2 ales please.
<takes the beers to Trevellian, puts one down in front of him>
Here you go, can YOU tell me what happened?
Trevellian Moss - April 18, 2006 11:44 PM (GMT)
Uhm... Brock started using people as shields and wasn't attacking the undead we were fighting, then a few minutes later I turned around to see him being taken down by Kiran and several others...
Trelaine - April 19, 2006 09:30 AM (GMT)
[In slightly angered tones]
How should the guard deal with the undead? Anyway but the current, For too long now the survivors of the undead wars have stood behind the life stones protection...Well times up private the stone is failing and if the guard or anyone else is to survive it is time we took the fight to the enemy...a direct assault is of course futile but we know already that items and sites of power survived the undead wars Glorax for one....We should be out there looking for more rather than hoping we accidentally come accross them.
There must be records of the locations of the old cities, locations of some of the libraries even the locations of the accursed sites where those that worshipped the gods made there offerings. These are the places we should be in number not here hiding behind our failing defences looking for a miracle....
These last few days we have gone and done just that, we knew the enemy had sway over the tree and were using it to create their dark trees to weaken our defences...We have gone out and struck a blow at the enemys heart and with luck it will bleed for some time. The tree of unlife is no more and with it the sources of the fruit to make these trees, and the celestials have agreed to join the fight and once we have gathered our strength and healed our wounded we must look for more targets that will strengthen us or weaken them.
[Takes a big swig from his wine and tries to calm down]
kiran deathbane - April 19, 2006 09:50 AM (GMT)
Favouring her good leg as Kiran suddenly stood up after Tellos' shouting, Kiran made her way to the Private looking up at him as she did so, fire gleaming in her eyes,
"The fact that the *Captain* hid behind me like a damn coward, then turned on me when I forced him to the front trying to kill me, I think beer is more important. Hell, I can think of a lot of things more important than bothering to tell the guard of his death, so BACK OFF!"
Turning her back on Tellos, Kiran hobbled once more to the table she had been sitting at, finishing her drink in one gulp and slamming the tankard to the table.
Isobel - April 19, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
(From a heap in the corner Isolbel emerges)
there has been a lott of tension between Brock and many of the party members on this venture but that does not give him the right to attack anyone whilst there back was turned especially when we are in the middle of a fight with the undead, However it does seem most unlike Broke to do such a thing.
As Trelain has said I believe he was under some sort of control and could not help himself but that does not meen we could allow him to attack the party.
would it not be better to simply say that he died in battle rather than dishonouring his family with this unfortunate event ? A good man has died in defence of the living races another sword has been lost to our cause the only ones who benefit from this are our enenies it is a sad tale all round dont you think ?
Morgrim - April 19, 2006 12:40 PM (GMT)
Morgrim looks up from his ale , " indeed another sword has been lost , but if it is a statement that is needed , then i am more than willing to give one , if it is be -fitting a guard member to use a man at arms as a sheild , then to disapear into the ground , and then to use a dwarf as a sheild in the face of the undead then he did nothing wrong , indeed he was a healer , then he should have been out of harms way , i did have some respect for the man , and me and my lads helped him retreive artefacts of his long forgotten order , but i canoot and will not condone the act of a coward in the face of the undead this is all i have to say on the subject , " Morgrim turns to the troll " lets see if we cant get that armour sorted out shall we? "
