The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed import wide receiver Kahlil Hill and rookie linebacker Josh Buhl to multi-year contracts on Tuesday.
Terms were not disclosed.
Kahlil Hill played one game for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons in 2002.
He had an 11-yard reception and three kickoff returns for 61 yards.
"Kahlil gives us the much-needed capability to flip the field with his vertical speed and return ability," Roughriders general manager Eric Tillman said.
Hill was a sixth-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons (184th overall in 2002) following a stellar collegiate career at the University of Iowa, where he won the Mosi Tatupu Award as the NCAA's top special-teams performer in 2001.
He also played six games for the Hamilton in 2005, snaring 16 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown and returning 13 punts for 204 yards and a touchdown.
Buhl, 25, spent the past two seasons on the practice squad of the Denver Broncos.
Prior to joining the Broncos, he had tryouts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.
Buhl also dressed for the Rhein Fire and Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe in 2005.
