Army football coach Stan Brock rounded out his staff yesterday, naming three new assistants.

Tucker Waugh joins Army as its running backs coach, Robert Lyles will serve as linebackers coach and Jon Tice replaces Brock as the offensive line coach. Waugh worked as Army's wide receivers coach from 2000-04 and spent the last two years at Stanford in the same capacity.

"I'm very excited to have Tucker come back to West Point," Brock said. "As an offensive line coach at Army, I watched him coach the receivers and he had that group of players believing that it was just as important to get inside and block linebackers as it was for them to catch touchdown passes. Anyone who could convince wide receivers to do that, I knew I wanted him on my staff."

Lyles played eight years in the NFL with the Houston Oilers (1984-89) and Atlanta Falcons (1990-91).

He served as defensive coordinator under Brock with the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League in 1999-2000.

Brock and Tice, the brother of former Minnesota Vikings' coach Mike Tice, played together with the New Orleans Saints from 1983-92. Tice, a former tight end, spent the last seven years on the Vikings' staff.
