Ronnie Heard signs with Eskimos

The Edmonton Eskimos inked former NFL safety Ronnie Heard on Monday.
Contract terms were not disclosed.
Heard, 30, played regularly in the NFL from 2000-05, spending his first five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and a sixth with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Mississippi product registered 216 tackles, six interceptions, 3½ sacks and three fumble recoveries in 85 NFL games, including 29 starts.
Heard entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Niners on April 20, 2000.
He joined the Falcons on March 18, 2005.
Edmonton has listed Heard as an import linebacker.
