KAUKAUNA, Wis. -- Kerry Brown, an assistant coach in Arena Football's developmental league, died after his truck ran into a ditch. He was 35.
Brown was on the staff of the Green Bay Blizzard of arenafootball2. He played nine seasons in the AFL as a receiver and linebacker. He started with the Florida Bobcats in 1997 after stints in the Canadian Football League and NFL Europe.
"Kerry's life and career speak for themselves," former Blizzard coach Bob Landsee said. "As a player he was respected, as a coach he was blossoming and as a man he was loved by all."
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. The Wisconsin State Patrol said alcohol wasn't believed to be a factor in the accident. Brown wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected.
Brown of Boynton Beach, Fla., wrecked his truck Monday night, the state patrol said. After driving into the ditch, his truck crossed back over the road and rolled several times on the grass in the center median, authorities said.
Brown is survived by his wife, Katina, and three children.
Funeral plans are incomplete.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
