Italian Beef
3-4 lbs boneless beef roast (I use whatever is on sale and trim some but not all excess fat)
1 package Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped green pepper
1 jar pepperoncini peppers
1. Place roast in crock pot.
2. Add onion and/or peppers if you like.
3. Sprinkle dry mix over the top of all.
4. Cook on low for 24 hours. (Note: NO liquids at all. The moisture stays trapped in the crockpot as long as you don't open it up.)
I'm going to have to try this... four years in Chicago helped me develop a serious Italian Beef addiction. And there isn't a Portillos anywhere near central PA.
