FORCE TRADE DL MIKE SUTTON TO NEW ORLEANS
IN EXCHANGE FOR FB DAN CURRAN
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – The Georgia Force has announced that the team has traded DL Mike Sutton to the New Orleans VooDoo in exchange for FB Dan Curran.
Curran, 6-0, 240 pounds, is a five-year AFL veteran who has spent time with the Nashville Kats, Georgia Force and most recently with the VooDoo. Last year, he posted 27 carries for a team-high 69 yards with three touchdowns in addition to recording four receptions for 39 yards. He spent two seasons with the Force (2002-03) where he tallied 199 rushing yards on 49 carries with 12 touchdowns and added two receptions for 16 yards. Curran has registered 612 rushing yards on 165 attempts with 37 touchdowns throughout his five-year career, including a career-high 336 rushing yards in 2004 with New Orleans.
Sutton, 6-4, 285 pounds, played in all 16 games for the Force in 2007 and collared 19.5 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two passes defensed and a career-high four sacks for the Southern Division Champions. The four-year AFL veteran has posted 71 tackles, 8.5 sacks, eight passes defensed, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception in his career. Sutton will return to New Orleans where he prepped at Salmen High School and spent his college career at LSU.
