Title: Fantasy Football according to Mr. Fantasy

Fantasy Football according to Mr. Fantasy

People stop me on the street and say, "Hey, Mr. Fantasy...you seem to know a lot about Hollywood; what do you know about football?"

OK, the only people who stop me on the street are offering me change for a cup of coffee or asking me directions to the bus station.

That said, here's what I know about football.

Randy Moss is having a rebirth no one ever expected. Anyone who thought he'd be better than ever is lying and never won a fantasy game in their life.

Randy Moss may have actually made Tom Brady better.

Larry Johnson (just as I predicted) is in for a long season.

In most leagues Tony Romo didn't get drafted until the third round. Until he flubs another game winning hold, he's a killer.

Joseph Addai is making LJ, LT and Steven Jackson look average.

Confession time: How many owners in how many leagues bought into the Steven Jackson pre-season hype and took him third overall?

Who is Peyton Manning throwing the ball to again? Suddenly his receivers don't seem like such great picks. I know, you all picked Dallas Clark before Reggie Wayne.

Other than the Cleveland game, Carson who?

What's Ronnie Brown been smoking? I thought that was Ricky's gig. Holy great draft pick Batman!

Adam Vinatieri is money in the bank. But who the heck is Nick Folk? Are you kidding me?

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is making Chad Johnson look like T.O. in the loudmouth but productive years.

Admit it; you didn't draft the Viking, Lions, or Texans defenses. You picked them up later.

What do you know?

Don't forget to log back on this afternoon for my can't miss picks. Tell your friends!

Player of the Week

Tony Romo (QB, Dal) - Romo's dream season continued in Week Four, when he threw for 339 yards and three TDs and also ran for 24 yards and one TD. A free agent in 2008, Romo's future salary keeps growing and growing - along with his fantasy legend.

Mastering the Matchups: Week 5

Miami (0-4) at Houston (2-2) - Miami's run defense is horrible, so if Ron Dayne gets the start this week he is a must-start. I would also give wideout Andre Davis a try because QB Matt Schaub is playing very well and making him look good. For Miami, don't expect a huge game from RB Ronnie Brown, but you cannot sit him at this point.

Jacksonville (2-1) at Kansas City (2-2) - This one looks like a defensive struggle, since both teams can play a little on that side of the ball. RB Larry Johnson looked better in the second half last week, and he should have a solid game here. If he does very well, that means he's back.

Cleveland (2-2) at New England (4-0) - I would steer clear of the Brown players if I could in this game, although sitting TE Kellen Winslow and WR Braylon Edwards is hard to do. New England's defense will bring QB Derek Anderson back down to earth, however. As for the Patriots, keep starting all their key guys, even Sammy Morris, and even if Laurence Maroney also plays.

Carolina (2-2) at New Orleans (0-3) - The Saint offense should come alive to an extent in this game, and WR Marques Colston should lead the way with a lot of catches. RB Reggie Bush's final yardage numbers will be good. For the Panthers, it's a good matchup for their offense, but you have to temper expectations because QB David Carr can't play.

N.Y. Jets (1-3) at N.Y. Giants (2-2) - The Jet defense does not prevent an offense from doing whatever it wants to do, so the Giants should be in great shape offensively, which is great news for QB Eli Manning. The Jets will have to keep pace, which should mean a lot of passing-game good numbers for WRs Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery.

Seattle (3-1) at Pittsburgh (3-1) - This is a tough matchup for Seattle's struggling running game, and I would not argue against sitting Shaun Alexander, who looks old and slow this year. QB Matt Hasselbeck will have to air it out this week. The Steelers will do what they do at home, which is run Willie Parker with success and take some shots in the passing game, mostly to WR Santonio Holmes.

Arizona (2-2) at St. Louis (0-4) - The Ram run defense is horrible, so expect a big game from RB Edgerrin James. Cardinal WR Anquan Boldin will be iffy to play, so Larry Fitzgerald should be a wise start again this week. For the Rams, they won't run it against a stout Cardinal defense, so they will have to pass it a lot. QB Gus Frerotte is risky, but Torry Holt should be in your lineup.

Atlanta (1-3) at Tennessee (2-1) - The Falcon offense has looked good two weeks in a row, but the Titans' defensive front is very active and tough to play against, so be careful with all your Falcons in this one. On the other side, Tennessee's running game should be in good shape, and QB Vince Young should have a good game.

Detroit (3-1) at Washington (2-1) - The Lions do what they do on offense each week, so start all their key passing-game guys. The Redskins will have to keep pace, so expect a better-than-average performance from their quarterback, provided WR Santana Moss can play.

Tampa Bay (3-1) at Indianapolis (4-0) - Tampa Bay will have no choice but to throw the ball a lot in this one, so QB Jeff Garcia and WR Joey Galloway should be productive. The Colts have the key injuries to be concerned with, which makes QB Peyton Manning and WR Reggie Wayne the only sure things.

San Diego (1-3) at Denver (2-2) - The Chargers usually run well on the Broncos, and they need to reel in QB Philip Rivers, so expect a huge game from LaDainian Tomlinson. Denver might have to go with rookie Selvin Young at RB, and I would start him if needed because he's looked very good. WR Brandon Marshall is a must-start, since Javon Walker's knee is still an issue.

Baltimore (2-2) at San Francisco (2-2) - The Ravens shouldn't have to pass it that much in this game, so look for a heavy dose of RB Willis McGahee. The 49er offense is in big trouble, so the only guy to consider is stud back Frank Gore. It won't be a very pleasant day for Gore, however.

Chicago (1-3) at Green Bay (4-0) - The Bear defense is still depleted, so QB Brett Favre's magic should continue one more week, which is great news for the Packer receivers. I can't feel good about any of the Bear players against a good Packer defense, but WR Bernard Berrian and TE Desmond Clark should be active and productive again.

Dallas (4-0) at Buffalo (1-3) - The Cowboys will be able to do whatever they want against this undermanned defense, so start 'em if you got 'em, even both RBs, Marion Barber and Julius Jones. For Buffalo, RB Marshawn Lynch is used to playing from behind against a good defense by now, and he's finding ways to keep producing solid totals.

This Week's Key Injuries

- Ram QB Marc Bulger (ribs) has been benched for one to two weeks in favor of Gus Frerotte. They'll monitor Bugler's injured ribs on a weekly basis.

- Redskin RB Clinton Portis (knee) was limited Wednesday, but the team is optimistic that he'll be able to play. Backup RB Ladell Betts will start if Portis can't play.

- Bronco RB Travis Henry (ankle/knee) had MRIs taken on his injuries, which came up negative, but he didn't practice Wednesday. Rookie RB Selvin Young will start if Henry can't play.

- Colt RB Joseph Addai (chest) and WR Marvin Harrison (knee) didn't practice Wednesday. The team won't likely get an idea if either of them can play until after Friday's practice. The team isn't ruling them out at this point. Backup RB Kenton Keith filled in for Addai, and backup WR Aaron Moorehead filled in for Harrison on Wednesday.

- Texan RB Ahman Green (knee) was limited Wednesday and is considered questionable to play at this point. Veteran Ron Dayne will start for him if Green is out.

- Giant RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) practiced fully on Wednesday. Jacobs should play, but whether he starts or not or what his role will be has yet to be determined.

- Bronco WR Javon Walker (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, as his knee continues to be problematic.

- Cardinal WR Anquan Boldin (hip) didn't practice Wednesday and is considered very questionable to play at this point. WR Bryant Johnson will start again if Boldin can't play.

- Lion WR Calvin Johnson (back) was limited at Wednesday's practice, but the team feels better about him being able to play this week. More will be known after Thursday's practice.

- Redskins WR Santana Moss (groin) didn't practice Wednesday and is considered to be questionable at this point to play. Backup WR James Thrash will likely start if Moss can't play.

- Steeler WR Hines Ward (knee) is considered very questionable to play at this point. Backup WR Nate Washington will start again if Ward can't play.

Fantasy Tip of the Week

Trade WR Steve Smith. If Jake Delhomme is out for the season or an extended period of time, Smith's in big trouble, because QB David Carr is a terrible player. Delhomme doesn't appear to be close to returning to the field, and he could undergo season-ending surgery.
