Atlanta Falcons to Lower Ticket Prices
Good news, Falcons fans: The tickets you don't want to buy for the bad team you don't want to see will be cheaper next year.
In the wake of the Michael Vick mess, the Bobby Petrino mess, and the bad season that has never even had them sniffing the playoff race, the Falcons say they plan to lower ticket prices in 2008.
Although the team isn't offering up any specifics, owner Arthur Blank says the team will not raise any ticket prices and will lower some, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
"We are going to be very sensitive in our ticket pricing to the situation our fans have been through this year," Blank said.
That's a step in the right direction, and Blank seems like a man who's genuinely committed to turning the franchise around and making Falcons games a positive experience for the fans. Blank made dumb decisions when he made long-term commitments to Vick and Petrino, but he's not a dumb guy, and he'll get the franchise turned around.
