Columbus, GA (Feb. 13, 2008) - The Columbus Lions of the American Indoor Football Association are proud to announce that defensive back Damian Daniels (5'10" 180, West Georgia) has signed a contract to play for the Georgia Force of the AFL.

Daniels impressed the Georgia Force coaching staff during training camp yesterday providing one of the highlights of the day by breaking up a pass on the goal line. Daniels was set to re-join the Lions after completing the 2007 season in which he would capture Defensive Player of the Year honors. Damian was a by-product of Lions scouting during an open tryout in 2006.

Daniels continues the string of success of Lions players moving up to the next level as he marks the sixth former Lion to make the jump. Most recently, Justin Rivers (6'0" 250, Linebacker, Eastern Kentucky) and Mahlon Carey (6'2" 215, Running Back, North Carolina) were recently selected by team Tennessee of the All-American Football League.

"It hurts us to lose such a quality player, but that's what we are supposed to do...move our players to the next level," says Head Coach Jason Gibson. "Damian is the epitome of hard work, he was the best DB in our league last year and we expect him to do the same with the Force."
