TRAINING CAMP REPORT
FEBRUARY 20, 2008

The Georgia Force continued training camp today by partaking in two-a-days for the seventh time this camp.

Both the offense and the defense made their fair share of plays during the morning practice. QB Chris Greisen connected with WRs Brent Holmes and Carl Morris for touchdowns during the three-on-three drills. On the defensive side of the ball, DBs Stephen Cason, Willie Gary and newly acquired David Philyaw all broke up passes in the session. During the team portion of practice, Greisen threw a screen pass to FB Keith Belton who scampered the remaining 20 yards for the touchdown. Cason added an interception before practice ended and DB Cam Newton threw WR Chris Baker over the wall in the endzone, but Baker managed to hold on to the ball for the score.

In the second practice of the day, the offense continued to find the endzone during drills. Greisen found Holmes on two occasions and WR Fred Coleman on another. Both QBs Tom Arth and Ben Dougherty threw touchdown passes as well. Arth distributed the ball to Holmes in the endzone and Dougherty connected with Baker. The defense got on the board during the team period as DL Ernest Allen pushed through the offensive line and recorded a sack of Dougherty. Dougherty then teamed with Coleman and Baker for scores for the offense to cap off practice.

“We seemed to do some things well today at times,” said Head Coach Doug Plank. “We only have a limited number of practices remaining in camp and I am looking forward to watching our players compete over the next couple of days.”
