What're they going to do if a 100 lunatics show up at 9am to start tailgating? Get run over by the lunatics. h6534y 56y56 7imt78

When did they start having rules to tailgate. What is the wrong with this county.

It's not the country, it's Gwinnett..............
How would they ever handle Nascar there?
Not that I'm a fan, but I was watching a tailgating special on the Food Network a few years ago that featured Emeril and Mario going to different sporting events and taping the tailgating festivities. As well as preparing food amongst the masses.
The final tailgating event was covered by Mario which was a huge Nascar race. I forget whether it was Daytona or Talladega but they were impressed that the racing fans started tailgating 3 days prior to the big race. Showing up on Thursdays for a Sunday event.
Now that's dedication.

I started sometime around 8am and nobody tried to stop me, so maybe it won't be an issue. It could have had a lot to do with the Red Bull people being parked there.

Lets see, the game starts at 7, the doors open at 6 subtract the 2 hours they say we can be there, thats 4pm now put in the "its only 1 hour early" forgiveness instead of permission rule...
- I'll be there at 3pm for the 15th's game! 56y56 ^&%1'

I hope they don't start throwing a damper on the atmosphere there. I had a great time seeing everyone last week and we did tailgate again after the game, but it was really for the hockey game.
Doc, I have done the NASCAR tailgating for a 4 straight days. We hardly ever sleep when we camp in Charlotte. There is never a time of day when it is quiet enough to sleep or dark enough because of all the generators and parties going on. I have made lots of friends at those taigating/camping weekends.
I will be seeing you all again in April. I have too many conflicts with the next few home games, but I will be back!

Hiya Shay, I've been wondering where you were.
I've got a few friends that go to the Talladega race every year. It has become a ritual for them. These guys take a vacation week for the race.
They leave on Thursday morning and (literally) come dragging back in on Monday afternoon. But no one makes it back to work for a couple of days after that. Crazy I tell ya.

I'm gonna shoot for somewhere between 12 and 1. I'll just be quiet untill everyone starts showing up. I have to cook early so that my grill is cooled off enough to put in the car before game time. As I noticed from the last game, it took awhile for my grill to cool off.
Doc_2957 - March 6, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
I was thinking along the lines of 3 or so myself.
Set up my smoker on Friday evening and get an early start Saturday morning and just pack it all in a cooler for the tailgating. It'll stay hot with no problems and I don't have to worry about the grills.
I need to pick up an Easy Up canopy though. No stakes at the Arena.
Jabrjo - March 6, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
I do have a big plug in hot/cold cooler, but I have such a long drive, I'd rather just get there early and cook. I'm looking for a good deal on one of those easy up deals myself. The closest Home Depot to me has them for $128 for a 10x10.
Gr8Force - March 6, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
I just got one at Wally World for about that same amount but the "walls" were extra as were weights to substitute as spikes.

But I don't think the Arena folks will like this.......

Thumbnails work now,,,, sorry...

They shouldn't have a problem with that. The last year we were there, there were a couple of people bringing rigs like that.

My brother told me he saw some for $89 somewhere but he couldn't remember where it was. He's on the road a lot, so if he ran across them again he would call and let me know. Wally World had them last fall of 89 and I walked right by and didn't buy one. Kind of a hind sight thing now....
My smoker is a little large to haul around, but what we usually do is take whatever we're cooking off and wrap it in a double layer of HD aluminum foil, then wrap that in a towel or small blanket.
Serves two purposes. Traps in the steam, which tenderizes the meat even more and keeps it hot for hours. I've pulled ribs out that had been wrapped for 3 hours and they were still to hot to handle. I've got an old Coleman cooler that works great for warm storage.
How many racks will I need?
2?
4?
8?
12?

Really? I figured they would object.
Funny thing about that smoker is, I never really finished it. Fenders, paint etc. Basically got it ready to go and started using it and never took time to finish it up.
